Here is the original photo and two more:
Here are two in the garden -- one in the light and one in the middle, a bit shadowed.
These are garlic "blooms"/seed buds!
Thanks to all who stop by and visit. I still didn''t get to visit - aargh. I hope to do so in an hour or two after I get some work done in the office.
To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky being hosted this summer by West Metro Mommy. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.
Garlic! My Mum grows it in her veggie patch. It looks weird and not at all like you think it would. I guess people are used to buying it in the shops.
ReplyDeleteA gardenia bloom wasn't something that I thought about when seeing that picture last Saturday and trying to figure out what it was. The garlic "blooms"/seed buds make me think of a dandelion bloom seed. I enjoyed trying to guess the gardenia bloom last Saturday.
ReplyDeleteYou can also get a lovely ornamental one with a purple flower head - they're quite alien looking aren't they?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your lovely garden pics!
ReplyDeleteI love garlic and never would have recognized the bloom/seeds until I read your caption!
Have a great weekend!
Ha! All those little flowers will drop seeds for new garlic plants! Very pretty, but prolific!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I've never tried garlic!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Saturday Snapshot!
What an interesting mystery bloom....reminds me of my "weed" that you saw earlier, but mine has nothing to offer.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
Home grown garlic -- how awesome. Love all the pics.
ReplyDeleteGarlic! I've seen "false garlic" and some different alliums, but I'm not sure I've seen garlic before. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI've grown garlic in the past, and it didn't look like that - your's looks very exotic indeed. My Snapshot is http://goo.gl/9IGEs
ReplyDeleteInteresting bloom.
ReplyDeleteGarlic...my FAVORITE spice. :)
ReplyDeleteNice photos.
