Saturday Snapshot (June 15, 2013) Mystery Bloom Revealed

I included a mystery bloom in my photos last week and no one guessed what it was.

Here is the original photo and two more:




This is the bloom opened more with some (wilting) gardenias.



Here are two in the garden -- one in the light and one in the middle, a bit shadowed.


These are garlic "blooms"/seed buds!


Thanks to all who stop by and visit. I still didn''t get to visit - aargh. I hope to do so in an hour or two after I get some work done in the office.

    Garlic! My Mum grows it in her veggie patch. It looks weird and not at all like you think it would. I guess people are used to buying it in the shops.

    A gardenia bloom wasn't something that I thought about when seeing that picture last Saturday and trying to figure out what it was. The garlic "blooms"/seed buds make me think of a dandelion bloom seed. I enjoyed trying to guess the gardenia bloom last Saturday.

    You can also get a lovely ornamental one with a purple flower head - they're quite alien looking aren't they?

    Ha! All those little flowers will drop seeds for new garlic plants! Very pretty, but prolific!

    Garlic! I've seen "false garlic" and some different alliums, but I'm not sure I've seen garlic before. Thanks!
