Thank you to all those who commented last week.
Only two or three people would collect a full series before beginning to read and several readers like to read a series back to back. Everyone else would just jump in (or, as Julie says: "dive in") to series books. Most of you would read them as you can get them. Not a patient group here - as Abby admitted. LOL!
The chore picked most (9x) was folding laundry, followed by dusting (5x), then vacuuming (3x). Julie didn't pick a chore because she was assigning them among her 5 children! Mystica and Marybelle sweep rather than vacuum... I love learning differences about our countries and cultures like that! Now LindaK is allergic to dust so she chooses not to disturb it. I don't really think that works does it?? I ended up dusting first so then I could vacuum. As Mamabunny said, I don't want dust falling on clean floors. Abby had an idea though using the vacuum to dust but then you have to put on a brush or special attachment. I like to use a Grab It or similar dusting cloth to get nooks and crannies.

Q1.
This
week Louisa asks: Of all the bedrooms that you've had, which one is your favourite, and why??
A: Jeepers Louisa- that is not an easy question when you've lived as long as I have and have had many bedrooms! :-) I do really like our current bedroom because it is big. We have room for a coffee pot and we have an outside balcony. But thinking back I did love my bedroom when I was 5 to 12. We lived on a farm in a very large house. My room overlooked a small hill in front of our house and the side garden where the daffodils grew. The best part was my roomy brass bed covered with my stuffed animals. I would crawl in and out of the covers so I didn't mess them up and the bed was easy to make. Plus I have a fond memory of my favorite cat trusting me enough to have her kittens on my bed when I was about 10 years old.

Q2. I'll ask a book question this week: What was the last occasion you gave a book as a gift (other than a book giveaway) and/or what was the book??
A: I gave my review copy of I NeverThought I'd See the Day!: Culture at The Crossroads by David Jeremiah to my Pastor because I thought he would enjoy it. No special occasion.
Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I will draw from the suggestions I used the month before and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions but some of you others might want to get in a question or two as we have a few people submitting most of the questions so far. Either way - it works for me. :-) The question list is being replenished! Thanks for sending in questions! The question submitters for February have been:
Emily, Margaret, Carol L. and Louisa. The winner of a book pick for February is: Margaret

1. Call me nostalgic, but it's my childhood's bedroom. Not to say I don't prefer the king size bed I have now compared to the small one back then (I was smaller too, ha), but I love the memories of this being my special place - for playing with friends or for getting up on weekend mornings just to head straight back to bed to read something. Don't I wish I could do that just now too? But no, laundry to fold, and floors to clean *sigh*.
ReplyDelete2. I gave my Mom the book "Incontinent on the continent. My mother, her walker, and our grand tour of Italy" by Jane Christmas (the German title sounds a lot better, yikes) for her birthday. Because we travel so much as Mom-daughter pairing it seemed like a perfect fit. Oh and she loved the book!
What was the last occasion you gave a book as a gift (other than a book giveaway) and/or what was the book??
ReplyDeleteIt was Christmas and I gave a guy-friend of mine a self-help book (I can't recall the exact title) but I spotted it at a bookstore and brought it for him. Another friend ad I filled it up with little post-it notes about stuff that we wish he would do (like cut his super long hair, cut his fingernails, not give people pixie sticks for Christmas gifts).
Good thing he had good humor.
my favorite bedroom: in fact it's my mother's on. My is on the street side so a lot of noise andvery cold. My mother's is on the "garden side" much quieter and sunny so it's there i go to read or when i'm ill to rest.
ReplyDeleteThe last book i gave was a french book " l'associƩ" and i gave it for St valentine to my mother to show her that i love her dearly.( i generally offer her some very regularly even without occasion show to show i think about her and i don't need a special occasion to tell my loved one i love them)

Congrats winners. Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite bedroom was the one I ad when I first got married. Because up to that point I shared a room with 2 sisters. Though it was big it was never really y own.
AT Christmas I gave my youngest daughter a James Dean biography since she idolizes the late actor so much.

I think my favourite bedroom was the first one I had when I moved out on my own. Mainly because it was all mine and I bought a brand new bed for it. It was the first time I didn't have a hand-me-down bed and it was awesome.
ReplyDeleteI gave my niece a book for her birthday earlier this month. She just turned 7 and loves the Rainbow Magic Fairy books.
My answer got eaten. Let's see if this is eaten too.
ReplyDeleteTake Two:
ReplyDelete1. I have moved so many times over the years I could not say. Bedrooms are not my favorite rooms, so maybe that is why no favorite.
2. I gave my son a book called "1001 Ridiculous Ways To Die". 1001 snippets of stupidity, black humor & crazy funny history.
1. My favorite bedroom was probably the guest room at my parents house. When they moved into their current house, the basement was not finished yet (which is where I ended up having an awesome apartment - but my room could get quite chilly in the winter), so I got the guest room. It was probably the smallest bedroom I ever had (outside of college), but it was very home-y and had its own bathroom which people often overlooked because of where the door was.
ReplyDelete2. My mom had knee surgery right before Christmas, so I gave her The Help so she had something to read while in the hospital.
1. My favorite bedroom was the one I had as a teenager. I had sooo many dreams for my future that I conjured up in that room!
ReplyDelete2. The last book that I gave as a gift was an audiobook of The Shack to a coworker and she loved it!

1.) I've only had one bedroom ;)
ReplyDelete2.) I give away my books to my family and friends all the time-maybe yesterday?
1. Ditto the jeepers because I have only had 2 in my life! The current one and the one I had when I was a baby and this cannot even remember! So I must say I like the current one. Sorry but not much else to say.
ReplyDelete2. I gave my bestie 2 books from her fave author Phillipa Gregory. She didn't have those yet so I gave her those. The Other Queen was one.
Lucky 13 lat time :D
ReplyDelete1. Of all the bedrooms that you've had, which one is your favourite, and why??
I love my current bedroom - it's comfortable, with lots of bookshelves. Moreover, I get it painted recently and the walls are so sunny and pretty!
2. What was the last occasion you gave a book as a gift (other than a book giveaway) and/or what was the book??
It was last year, I gave 2 books to my cousin because of her birthday. The books were by Libba Bray and the cousin decided (by her own, I'm soo proud of her ;)) to buy the 3rd book
I gave children's books to my cousin for Christmas.

I think the bedroom I have now is my favorite because it is the roomiest and it has a private bathroom and shower which I never had before.
ReplyDeleteI gave my DIL a book on photography because she loves photography and my son had given her a very expensive camera to work with.

1. My favourite is my current bedroom, it's nice and big, it was the storage room, but my family renovated it for me, and it's pretty big, and it fits my double bed, couch, 4 bookcases, 2 dressers, 5 chairs, 2 desks, and the closet is the space under the stairs with a bit extra. So it's nice and comfy! I love it!
ReplyDelete2. I don't have any books to give away :(
my fave bedroom is my current one - it's huge 19' x 25' with a big king size poster bed and a big walk in closet and big bathroom with soaker tub - I love it!
ReplyDeleteI send my sister books quite a lot

1. I've only had one bedroom (so far) and I love it because it is spacious and comfortable.
ReplyDelete2. I've often shared and given books to a friend of mine who also reads romance. The latest book I gave was Immortal Rider by Larissa Ione
1. My old childhood bedroom because it was painted pink and that was the only time I could get away with that color without it being too childish.
ReplyDelete2.Last Christmas, I gifted my best friend with a copy of The Hobbit which she was a big fan of.
