WEEK #353
(One Question.)
Becky asks: What do you like best from your favorite genre or author??
Since we've been asking about genres I thought this was another good follow-up question.
I have been reading a lot of space military and post-apocalyptic lately. I like the escapism and creativity of the space military which sometimes includes realistic situations in alien settings and with alien creatures.
I like the possible realism in the post-apocalyptic, especially the prepper stories rather than the zombie stories.
Historical Romance is always a favorite genre too and I think I like those for the romance and passion that is there but mostly behind doors. :-)
Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I draw from the suggestions I used during the month and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions. Thanks for sending in questions! The supply of questions is dwindling so share some if you think of any -- even if they are duplicates I'll weed through or try to modify.
CarolL and Becky get 1/2 book credit each for questions used in the month of September.
Your turn to share. Becky asks: What do you like best from your favorite genre or author??
SBB Comment Winners can choose a selection from the Updated ARC and Other books, including the "Love" and Christmas titles all in one post.
SBB Rules:
a) Must be a follower.
b) Share a comment on the question above.
Open internationally and an international winner may get a smaller book or a $5.00 GC if I decide the mailing is too much.
I will pick a Comment winner from all comments made through Saturday October 6, 2018 at 5 PM central.
I have been reading mostly historical fiction lately and like to find out more history during the 1800's in the United States.
ReplyDeleteSince I look for realism and not escapism, I tend to lean towards authors who portray real people. I need flawed characters with everyday problems. Luckily, I have found a couple of authors who write characters I can actually relate to.
ReplyDeleteHistorical Fiction is my favourite genre too. It's the times and people I enjoy. The way of life and all it entails.
ReplyDeletefrom urban fantasy i love the large range of possibilities
ReplyDeleteThank you for the win 😊
ReplyDeleteI mostly read fantasy and I love the word building in them!
good writing
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winner!
ReplyDeleteChevy Stevens is my favorite author. Her books keep me up at night they are so scary! I love that though! Plus she is Canadian.
Congrats to the winner.
ReplyDeleteWell I like Sarah J Maas so fantasies involving faeries is something I've been into for a couple of years now. Started with Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series. I generally read and like most genres besides horror so this is actually pretty difficult a question to pinpoint a single answer.
I enjoy historical romance alot myself, I just like being taken to a different time period. Post-apocalyptic stories are great too, there's that element of fear that something like that could happen.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week and happy reading!
I like historical and contemporary romance. Also Chick Lit is another favorite.
ReplyDeleteI read mostly mystery and it is the suspense that I like to find out who done it.
ReplyDeleteI like cozy mysteries and especially those with cats or dogs. To me the animals just make the story better since I'm an animal lover.
ReplyDeleteCongrats ASHFA!
ReplyDeleteLately I have been reading mostly cozy mysteries which I enjoy reading for the suspense and trying to figure out who did it.
I like Science Fiction Romance and Fantasy Romance for the escapism and the world building.
ReplyDeleteFrom Nalini Singh I'm looking forward to her amazing characters and her mind blowing world building. She has a way of making you invested i her worlds and in all the characters, them being evil or not, you don't even care at that point.
