As we start into March is everyone ready for a new season soon? Spring for many of us and fall for you folks far on the other side -- you do get four seasons don't you? :-)
Thank you to all who shared last week.
Many of you like bookish merchandise but few of you buy it. Some enter giveaways, and some receive gifts. Cindi does buy some for her children; Natasha buys jewelry items and Emily occasionally buys some items. Nrlymrtl noted that she does get bookish board games. Yes- that sounds like fun.
There are quite a goodly number of collections - in addition to books. Many collect bookmarks and keychains while several collect types of bears, candles, stamps and coins and other fairly normal items. Then there are those unique items like Jolene's roosters, Carol's antique compacts, and Liss' special toys from Kinder Sorpresa chocolate. Cindi mentioned matreshika dolls and I confirmed my guess that those are the Russian nesting dolls. Then too several people who noted lack of space and clearing clutter as reasons not to have collections. I fit in that group. :-)

WEEK #89 Questions
Q1. Mary P asks: What is your favourite kind of birthday cake??
A: Actually, I used to prefer pie, but now I like cake too. I love a really moist carrot cake with cream cheese icing. I also love sugar icing on any cake. My DH gives me his icing - he is so sweet to me. :-)

Q2. My bookish Question this week: a) Do you have a title languishing though you watched for it's release or eagerly purchased it but haven't read it?? b) Would you be interested in joining me for a challenge maybe in April to read that book?
A: I have several -- well maybe many-- books that are languishing. One in particular that I purchased when I learned of it last summer but haven't read yet is The Harbinger: The ancient mystery that holds the secret of America's future ! I am hoping to get my ladies book club to read this for April. But even if we don't I would like to set up a challenge to read "a languishing title" in April. Let me know if any of you are interested. :-)
Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I draw from the suggestions I used during the month and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions. Thanks for sending in questions! We can always use fresh questions.

Wow, thank you! :) I'm curious about Matreshika Dolls. I haven't seen one in my country.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday cake.. I don't have a prefered cake, but since I love chocolate, any cake with it will be loved by me.
I have a pile of books I haven't read. I guess I should get reading them.
Congrats winners..
ReplyDeleteI love chocolate with pure raspberry filling.
I have three actually. And I'm surprised I haven't read at least one already since I was waiting and waiting for it. I have to stop going to the library because I get distracted with the new books and check out a few to read. Leaving my long anticipated books in the unread pile. I'm definitely going to read them now. :) Thanks for that question.

1. My fav bday cake is cheesecake *drools*
ReplyDelete2. I've a few books languishing. Mainly fantasy series cos I like to read them in sequence in one shot but keep getting distracted by stand alone titles. That's the whole problem with long series.

I really enjoy a homemade from scratch cake, usually chocolate, but it can be a white cake if there is chocolate frosting. I usually end up making myself this cake because I know making cake and icing from scratch is a little more time consuming than a box mix or buying one.
ReplyDeleteI have several books that are by favorite authors that I bought right away and have let sit because I have been focused on review copies. But I am feeling The Need to read purely for pleasure.
If you set up a challenge in April, I will do my best to join in.
love an Angel Food cake with Cream Cheese frosting for my birthday
ReplyDelete1 - My Favorite Birthday cake is a Chocolate Devils Food cake with White Boiled frosting (which is somewhere between marshmallow and meringue).
ReplyDelete2 - there's many books in my TBR pile and list, with ever changing focus - I hope to get thru them all eventually, but more are added all the time
like chocolate cake
ReplyDelete1. I do love a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.
ReplyDelete2. I have a number of books that I eagerly bought but are now just sitting on my bookshelf. I will eventually get to them
I'd rather just read at my own pace I think. I'll enjoy it more, rather than feel rushed.
1. I love icecream cake for my birthday.
ReplyDelete2. I have a bunch of books that I have on my list to read.
I would love a chocolate cake or an ice cream cake for my birthday.
ReplyDeleteI am always watching for new titles from my favorite authors to release so I can get them. I have a lot that I bought and haven't gotten a chance to read yet. If you set up a challenge in April I would try my best to join you in it to get at least one or two of the books read.
1. my fave birthday cake is chocolate fudge cake with milk chocolate icing - so rich and sinful
ReplyDelete2. I always have some books that I want to read and haven't gotten too. I do tend to read my fave authors books as soon as they come out.
1. Favorite Birthday Cake - Red Velvet cake is my favorite!
ReplyDelete2. I have quite a few books that I haven't yet gotten to because between the books on my bookshelf and the ones I have downloaded, I am constantly having some type of inner struggle to decide what to read next. Either way though, I plan to read them all!
1. Chocolate...anything chocolate...just give me chocolate and I'm happy!
ReplyDelete2. I have a couple of books like that. I keep up with books on fictfact.cot and the newest are always at the top...lets just say there are several that have been up there for a really long time. I'm not much of a challenge kind of person but who knows.
1. OMG....CHOCOLATE cake!! Rich, dark chocolate for me! Sponge, ice cream, doesn't matter....just chocolate! Although I do like carrot walnut or some fruity cakes. Depends on my mood I guess.
ReplyDelete2. Gosh...SO MANY! Like the Delirium series for one. I'd love to participate in read-a-longs but not in April. June would be fine for me. Thanks!
1. I'm not a big fan of cake, I would much rather just have vanilla ice-cream or an ice-cream cake. Frosting is too sweet and usually cake has so much of it
ReplyDelete2. Ya, I would love that. I have Divergent and Insurgent sitting on my shelf and I really need to read those! The Delirium series too!
April would be tough for me too but I may be able to swing it
ReplyDeleteIce cream cake is a family tradition for me. So yummy!
ReplyDeleteI actually just read my languish book - The Passage - earlier this month. I have a ton of books waiting for me, but this was the one that kept screaming at me.
