Sharing Beyond Books #129 Comment Giveaway 12/7/13

Hello again on Saturday night and Welcome to SBB, Sharing Beyond Books.
Thanks to everyone who commented last week.

I hope everyone has enjoyed the first week of December. The weather has warmed up which is too bad. I see more lights up each day/night.

Most of us are fine buying used books although several mentioned that they buy new for gifts!  Nikki doesn't have a used bookstore handy so she buys more new. And Ricki still likes the smell of new even though she buys used too.

I am glad that I am not alone in forgetting my anniversary!! A good half of us tend to forget anniversaries even if we remember birthdays. The other half are good at remembering but most of them use reminders like FB, calendars or planners. Okay - guess I should take that idea and implement it.
The Winner from SBB #128 comments is: #7 Rita who can make a GC choice if international or book choice from the ARC/Review titles, Christmas titles or Love titles - all linked near the end of the post.  Please let me know your choice by completing the (new) WINNER FORM.

WEEK #129

Q1. Winnie asked this earlier in the year but I didn't use it till now: What is your favorite book this year??
A: I was reluctant to ask and answer this one earlier as I didn't really have a favorite yet for the year. Now I will select Shrouded as my favorite so far in 2013.

Q2. My non-bookish 'Question' this week: Do you prefer bar soap or liquid soap/gel for bath/shower time??
A: I am a soap user and for the most part have used the same mild, old fashioned brand for years. I do have a few fancy soaps for decoration but provide soap pumps for use in the guest baths - of course that is usually for hands. Recently the doctors told me to use a good antibacterial soap to prepare for the surgery but friends say their research shows that is not good to use all the time as it washes away good skin oils.

Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I draw from the suggestions I used during the month and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions. Thanks for sending in questions! We are getting low on questions so hopefully you will send more in -- even if they are duplicates I'll weed through or try to modify to use.

Your turn to share:

Q1. Winnie asks: What is your favorite book this year??

Q2. My non-bookish 'Question' this week: Do you prefer bar soap or liquid soap/gel for bath/shower time??

  3. 1. The Bitter Kingdom by Rae Carson
    2.Bar soap please.

  4. Unraveled by Courtney Milan. Her books are awesome.
I used to use bar soaps but my sis converted me to liquid. It's great with a shower sponge.

  5. 1. I think my favorite new book this year was The Thinking Woman's Guide to Real Magic by Emily Croy Barker, but I also really liked The Namesake by Steven Parlato.
    2. Shower gel!

  6. Facebook is a great reminder, but the problem is that people often change their birthday dates just to know who remembers it truly (mean people!!)

1- I guess that the book that I really loved so far this year is Game of Thrones. I'm in love with the medieval fantasy story, and besides I'm a huge fan of the series.
2- I'm in the middle, I prefer bar soap when it comes to bath, but I prefer a liquid soap whenever I have to wash my hands only.

  7. Thank You!!

    1. I've read so many great books that it is difficult to choose one. I did love
Death of a Schoolgirl by Joanna Campbell Slan.

    2. I like liquid soap.

  8. 1. fallen too far by Abbi Glines

  9. 1 - Mary Balogh's 'The Proposal' and 'The Arrangement' - first 2 books in her new series 'The Survivors Club' - couldn't choose between them
    2 - Liquid

  10. 1. I don't have a favorite book - I do read everything James Patterson writes

    2. I like bar soap - we use Dove although I do have shower gel as well

  11. The Passage by Justin Cronin.
I prefer liquid soap, I find it usually lathers better.

  12. New Tricks by David Rosenfeld was my favourite this year.
I like to use a liquid soap.

    Congrats to Rita.

  13. 1. I have been reading works by Bill Bryson. AT HOME is my favorite this year - so far.

    2. I love delicious smelling gels for the shower, but for hand washing I do love nice soaps. Hand washes are too drying I find.

  14. 1. Some of my favorite books that I read this year include A Storm of Swords, by George R.R. Martin; Love Realized, by Melanie Codina; and Women Living Well: Find Your Joy in God, Your Man, Your Kids, and Your Home, by Courtney Joseph. :)

    2. I tend to prefer liquid body wash.

  15. I have read so many great reads so far this year and can't pick just one. Honestly. But I did really love A Hundred Summers by Beatriz Williams spelled and Jack Absolute by C.C. Humphreys. A great series. But I've only read the first book so far.

I use liquid soap for washing my hands but usually a bar soap when showering or bathing.

  16. I prefer liquid soap.

My favorite book this year has been The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks.

  17. 1. Fave book? Oh gosh...maybe Iron Legends or Goddess Legacy? Both are short stories. But I loved reading them!

    2. Liquid for me. Still can't get over the fact that bar soap might not be very hygienic.

    * Martha, just wondering if you ever got my email about a recent win? I emailed instead of filling up the form. Thanks!
