Sharing Beyond Books #110 Comment Giveaway July 27, 2013

Hello again on Saturday night and Welcome to SBB, Sharing Beyond Books.

I've had a strange week but I keep pushing through.

Most of you have never read Manga, nor watch anime. Nine of 25 have read Manga and 12 have watched anime. Several mentioned Howl's Moving Castle which is one of my son's favs and I think I have seen part of that. I'll have to watch it next time we are together.

Thank you to all who shared last week.

The Winner from SBB #109 comments is: #17 lesleysays who can make a GC choice if international or book choice from the ARC/Review titles, Christmas titles or Love titles - all linked near the end of the post.  Please let me know your choice by completing the (new) WINNER FORM.

WEEK #110 Questions

Q1. Liss asks: Have you had a moment when you don't want to read a book? If so, what do you do??
A: I really can't think of a time when I didn't want to read. :-) If I am not into one book I might switch to an audiobook but I am usually happy to read.
(Just teasing - there is no such thing as a silly question.)

Q2. My non-bookish Question this week: How many purses do you have; how many do you use??
A: I have about ten purses but I only use five of them. I generally use a black bag that fits  my Kindle and MP3. However for church I rotate three bags depending on season and color: white (summer), brick color (fall) and black (winter). I also have one small bag I use for formal evenings.

Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I draw from the suggestions I used during the month and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions. Thanks for sending in questions! We are getting low on questions so hopefully you will send more in -- even if they are duplicates I'll weed through or try to modify to use.
JULY QUESTION CONTRIBUTORS: Elizabeth, Margaret, Nikki and Liss. The Random.org pick is #1 so Elizabeth gets a choice of GC.

  5. 1. Yes, I have had moments when I don't want to read a book. If it is a certain book, I read something else for a while, but set a goal for the book I don't want to read - like at least a chapter or ten pages a day. If I don't want to read in general, I usually go play games on the computer.
    2. I have 7 that I have used at some point in time in the last year, but I know I have more.

  6. Probably not; except when I'm so sleepy that I can't keep my eyes open.

I'm not a purse person. I have 3, all of which are well used.

  7. 1. there's times I don't want to read - I usually play computer games or surf the web

    2. I have a lot of purses - I like the bright colored leather ones for summer

  8. 1. I always want to read.

    2. I have six purses but I use the same one most of the time.

  9. Question 1: When I can't/don't read it means I am going through a severe depression. I have a history of that horrible illness. I am a constant library loafer. When I go to the library and have no interest in ANYTHING, then I know I am in trouble. I need medication.

Thank you for letting me share.

  10. 1) I have. Usually I will put it away and try again in a couple hours. If I still don't want to read it, I return it to the TBR pile. Weeks later, If I still don't want to read it, I remove it from my TBR pile and never think of it again.

2)I have one purse and have to force myself to even remember to use that one.

  11. Congrats to the winner.

If I feel at times I don't want to read a book for whatever reason I just put it aside and read something else. Unless it's a library book, then I return it after a couple of days so someone else can read it. I can always take it out again.

I used to have a lot of purses for all the seasons and events. But I don't like carrying a bag anymore and will usually just use 1 of 2 body bags, small enough to hold the necessities and it's close to my body. Otherwise I won't use one anymore. And this stems from having been mugged twice in a four month period.

  12. 1. sometimes, either skim the book or read another one

  13. 1 - once in a while I just can't settle on what book to read, or I've started one and it just hasn't grabbed me (but I try to keep going in case it gets better - at least I'll know what happens) - but if I don't want to read a book, I might catch up on some magazines or do a craft in front of the tv

2 - I probably have 25 purses, generally just use one per season - I'm actually on the hunt for a new purse, but I'm kinda specific about features - but once I find one I really like I'll probably get rid of several others

  14. 1. I just wish there was extra time in the day to read more. Sometimes I do other things instead of reading.

  17. Sometimes when my eyeballs are too tired from computer work, I listen to audiobooks instead. Usually when I play in my garden, I don't read or listen to books as I like to listen to the insects, my chickens, the cats, donkeys, goats, neighbor's farm equipment, etc.

I have 3 purses. 1 sits at work in a drawer holding personal items - floss, scrunchy, sewing kit, etc. 1 get's used for those rare occasions that I wear a dress or skirt. The other I use to hold my meds for doctor's visits. But 99% of the time, wallet, keys, and utility knife go in pockets and I am ready to roll.

  19. Q1. I LOVE reading so that doesn't really happen. But sometimes when I am reading a very serious book, I might need a change for awhile. Especially when faced with a new book of a great new series, a continuation to a really naughty cliffhanger, a lighter, fluffier read, etc. Those might distract me for a bit but in time I will go back to that first book. But no, I don't get put off reading.

Q2. By that I think you mean the same thing as bag? Purses are dainty bags to me, to which I will answer, none. But big bags, I have about 5-6.

  20. 1. Rarely do I not want to read. Unusually I have to make myself put books down to get chores and such do e.

    2. I only have 1.

  21. 1: I almost always want to read, whenever I don't it is when I am incredibly tired.

2: I have three, I use none on a regular basis. I use a small backpack instead of a purse. I use a purse to carry my phone when I am wearing a dress.
