Thanks to everyone who commented last week.
Almost everyone agreed that they would stop buying or reading an author that lashed out unreasonably and without explanation or apology. Several said they stay away from that sort of thing anyway. Several respond differently depending on the behavior of the author and what triggered the controversy.

Q1. Becky asks: Whats your favorite zoo animal??
A: It is hard to pick one - I do love the majestic cats. But I have always had a soft spot for monkeys and especially the chimpanzee.

My favorite zoo animals are the Meerkats. I can sit and watch them forever. I try to see if I can tell which one is doing which of the jobs that the signs at their exhibit say they are doing.
ReplyDeleteLove the elephants. In this part of the world we do see elephants more often as they are sometimes working elephants - either agriculture or temples but their attraction is not less for me but more. Love watching them.

Hard for me to choose just one, I love the tigers though, Depending on if the zoo's have them or not my favorite would be the tigers, zebras and wolves.

Definitely the penguins - especially the rockhoppers - but I also like the polar bears, sea lions, river otters, and prairie dogs
ReplyDeleteI love elephants. I have a collection of elephant figures. My office is decorated with a large cross-stitch I did about ten years ago hanging on one wall, and a simple cross-stitch painted right on a second wall.

I always head straight for the tigers. I just love watching them---and I see so many of the same traits in my house cats. But I'm a real animal lover so I do enjoy all the zoo creatures---I even go to the petting zoo even though I'm certainly not a child any more.

ReplyDeleteI always love the tiger exhibit at the zoo. Zoos kind of make me sad though, but I do understand they serve a purpose.
probably the polar bears - they are so graceful in the water (love it when the zoo has an underground glass view so you can see them swimming). The big cats are gorgeous too!
ReplyDeleteFav zoo animal is def the polar bears - at home in our north - we have a new baby on called 'Hudson' as from our polar bear region of Hudson Bay. Lots of tourists take the train up to see them first hand in their home environment. But for us to have them local in the zoo is pretty amazing!

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love going to the zoo. When my daughters were little we had a membership and went at least once a month and never got bored. Now were lucky if we go once ever few years. My favorite animals have always been the big cats like the lions and tigers!
