Thanks to everyone who commented on the last SBB post
There were good responses on what we look for in reviews! Many want specifics or reasons why the book was liked or not so they can determine better if they would like the book. The other area mentioned at least three times was specifics on details like bad language, explicit sex, and cliffhangers as well as other elements that a reader might not want to read. Elizabeth made a good suggestion which I use too - consider at least one positive and one negative review to get a perspective from each end.

WEEK #133 (One Question.)
Q1. Mary P asks: What kind of movies do you like to watch & which movies have you seen or plan to see??
A: We may have had something similar but this is still a good question to answer for the beginning of a new year. We tend to watch movies on TV, Netflix or Roku. My DH loves to watch Hallmark movies and we watched alot at Christmas time. Other times we watch sci fi, action and some comedies. We stay away from dramas and movies with bad language.
I am looking forward to seeing Catching Fire and Divergent.

Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I draw from the suggestions I used during the month and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions. Thanks for sending in questions! We still have a supply of questions but from the same people so hopefully others will send more in -- even if they are duplicates I'll weed through or try to modify to use.
Your turn to share:

I tend to prefer watching comedies, but I watch a wide variety of movies with my husband. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big movie or tv watcher. I typically like chick flicks and comedies. I think Id' like to see the new Osage County with Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep
ReplyDeleteI like to watch comedies, fantasies, mysteries/suspense, horror, and some sci-fi (especially superhero ones). This month, my meetup group is going to see I, Frankenstein.
ReplyDeletei don't have specific kind of movies i enjoy more than other but i hate horror ones^^ For the rest i watch some on tv like the anime movie by gibli/mayazaky ( mon voisin totoro)there were on for the holidays and so poetic but i also enjoy blockbuster from time to time^^
ReplyDeletei don't go a lot to the cinema though so the movies i watch are either those on tv or the dvd
I'll watch any movie as long as it has a happy ending and the main characters don't die! If there are any tears I want to end up smiling. I'll put on movies I've already seen while on the computer or doing chores - right now one of the Star Wars movies is on - I love adventure, romance & comedy. Once in a while, on a long weekend I'll pick up a pile of movies from the library and have a movie weekend - I like to mix up the styles.
ReplyDeleteQ1. Gosh I am a TV addict so I watch pretty much everything except for horror movies. So not into those.
ReplyDeleteI've watched FROZEN! Yay it's so good! I think I'm going to watch it again next week! Yippee! Go watch it if you haven't. And of course I want to watch Catching Fire, Divergent, and The Fault in our Stars. And maybe Vampire Academy just because it's based on the book.
I don't watch many movies, or tv at all. But I do enjoy a good action movie on occasion.
ReplyDeleteI watch movies on TV, Lifetime and Hallmark usually. I like romantic comedy, I don't like violence or anything scary.
ReplyDeleteI like to watch movies on Hallmark if I'm watching alone. I like watching family movies with my girls, and dramas/thrillers with my boyfriend.
ReplyDeleteI will watch a range of movies, but NOT horror. I have just seen THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG and CATCHING FIRE at the movies. I enjoyed them both.
ReplyDeleteanything that looks interesting; don't plan movies to watch
ReplyDeleteI love movies with interest concepts like Truman Show or Dark City. I love it when they make me think.
ReplyDeleteCongrats winner!
ReplyDeleteI have such a vast taste... I love horror though with comedy a close second. Yeah, total opposites of the scale, but what can I say....
Favorite horror is Dracula with Bela Lugosi... almost 40 and I still have nightmares about vampires thanks to that movie. HA!
I don't have a favorite comedy movie though... I mean that'd be waaay to hard to narrow down. Lots of funny movies, not so many scary ones.
I don't watch many movies. When I do they are usually mysteries or comedies.

I'm a huge fan of movies as well as books. I love to watch them on Netflix or go to the theaters with my boyfriend. I love almost everything, sci-fi, action, comedy, suspense, thriller, even disney or pixar movies. I totally loved those and I really want to watch them all, I'm not ashamed even though I'm almost 23 lol.
ReplyDeleteI like to watch comedies, nothing toooo serious or violent.
ReplyDeleteThis year I did watch many Christmas movies and I enjoyed them so much.
I love horror movies and anything paranormal.
ReplyDeleteI want to see Insidious 2.
Thanks for the chance to win!
I have an eclectic taste in movies. I like all types, but I have to be in the mood to watch them. Like I can't just walk in to a theatre and decide I'm going to watch a drama (i.e. Lincoln, 12 Years A Slave, etc), I have to be in a certain mood to watch them.
ReplyDeleteThough, I usually am up for an action movie or thriller no matter what. One of my faves from 2013 was End of the World. I about died laughing while watching it, and I freaking love Simon Pegg.
Oops, I meant The Word's End, not the End of the World. I typed faster than I thought there, my bad.
ReplyDeleteI watch all kinds of movies, but lean towards horror or paranormal. Recently watched Warm Bodies, Catching Fire and The Conjuring. Thank you for the giveaway!
