Saturday Snapshot (January 26, 2013) Dec Visit to The Big Island, Hawaii

The third day of our cruise we visited the The Big Island. We picked up a small van tour in Hilo for a three and a half hour tour with lots of sites!

1st stop: Rainbow Falls - not big but pretty

We sampled shortbread and coffee while watching them make the goodies!

We got some great decorating ideas at the candie shop.
So gorgeous!

3rd stop: Buildings full of all varieties of good smelling orchids

Learn how to grow orchids in the greenhouse.

The next site was Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
but I will post those pictures next time.
The last stop was The Mauna Loa
Macadamia Nut Company.
You can sample many flavors - Yumm!

Next week I'll show pics of the volcano area.

To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.

  9. Since you went in December I imagine you must have learned to say 'Mele Kelikimaka' ... I don't know if I've spelled that correctly but it's Merry Christmas. I'm sure you had a lovely trip.

  11. That looks like a lot of fun! Pretty much everything in this post was stuff we wanted to see but didn't have time for when we were on the big island. We spent most of our time in Kona and seeing the volcano.
