Sharing Beyond Books #46 Comment Giveaway April 28, 2012

Welcome to SBB! I had to work on this a bit earlier since I will be in activities Saturday evening at our L.I.V.E. weekend event.. We are having a wonderful time sharing in an extended family!

Thank you to all those who commented last week. I love reading your answers and learning more about you!

It is wonderful that several of our commenters are writing books and Birgit is published!! (Now we can go grab her book and encourage her!)  I think I would enjoy reading about Mystica's orphans. Linda K claims not to like writing and it took a paragraph to say that. LOL It gave me a big smile.Maybe Mamabunny will find her bunny book and share it with the public! :-)

Interestingly several of us did keep diaries or journal in our teens but it appears that only Carol L keeps it up. Carol W did have cousins find her teen diary - how frustrating. And I got another chuckle that marybelle's travel diary consisted mostly of food.

The Winner from SBB #45 comments is: #6 CAROL W. There are still 8 'love' books to pick from and 2 Christmas choices. Carol W  please let me know if you want a GC (if you are international) or choose a book from the remaining Love Books List for Giveaway, remaining Christmas Giveaway Books, OR pick from the ARC box and let me know your choice, your address and a choice of bookmarks by completing the WINNER FORM.

WEEK #46 Questions

Q1. This week Birgit asks: Imagine you could pick a "setting" for your next life - which one would you choose? Space Opera? Historical romance? Cozy mystery? Etc.??
A:  This is a hard choice as some Historical romance settings seem elegant...but only if you are rich.  But that may be true of any time.  I would choose.... Space Opera.  Then again, after looking up images I noted there are a lot of difficulties in space!
Space Opera with lots of struggles!

Q2. My question this week:  What is/has been your favorite time piece??
A: I had a nice little Timex watch that lasted for years until the band wore out. I also had a Rolex once upon a time but it stopped working and got lost at the repair shop. I also love a beautiful sun dial. But my favorite time piece has to be a Grandfather clock! We had one in our home when I was young and we have one now that chimes every quarter hour. It looks a lot like the one pictured below and we got it after visiting the Black Forest Cuckoo Shop in 2005.

Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask.  Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I will draw from the suggestions I used the month before and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions but some of you others might want to get in a question or two as we have a few people submitting most of the questions so far.  Either way - it works for me. :-)  The question list is being replenished!  Thanks for sending in questions!
During April questions were contributed by Abby, Mamabunny13, Louisa and Birgit. The winner for a book pick is LOUISA.  Please pick a book and fill in the form.

  1. I would definitely choose a space opera. I think that would be so interesting, to live in a world where space travel was common.

My favorite timepiece is a watch that my sister gave me as a gift - it's part of an italian charm bracelet so there are charms that mean a lot to me on it.

  2. 1. Without a doubt, I would choose a cozy mystery - one where I have a big, comfy, English-style library in which to ponder.
    2. I don't really know. I really like the Fossil watch I have now. I do want my grandparent's old mantel clock.

  3. 1. Yay, one of my own questions! Obviously there is a difference of dipping into a certain "setting/genre" while reading compared to living in it. Still, with my love for the science fiction genre, I'd like to be born into a world where we are able to boldly go where no man has gone before in our hopefully not malfunctioning spaceships! On second thought, maybe I've watched to many Star Trek episodes ;-)!

    2. My favorite time piece? Oh my! I never leave the house without a watch, yet the answer does not come easy. Oddly enough it's a small wind-up kiddie watch I used to wear when I was little which I remember fondly. I think my Mom even kept it somewhere, I really need to ask her about that watch now.

  4. 1. Historical romance sounds wonderful to me, but I do think I would create a few scandals. Different times, different rules.

    2. My Parents have a great, huge clock up on the wall. It **BONGS** on the half hour & basically has a BONGING hissy fit on the hour. It annoys me so much when I go to visit. Then it lost its BONG. I could not tell what time it was. We ALL missed the BONGING. My Mother got it fixed. Now, of course, we are back to loathing the BONGING. Some people are never happy. It is a beautiful clock despite the horrendous din.

  5. 1. I would want cozy mystery for my setting. It is just the stage of life I am in I guess.
    2. My favorite timepiece is a wristwatch. I love them.

  6. To be perfectly honest, I would probably pick this life again :) Just regular me.
I don't really have any time pieces, I guess I like the Grandfather Clock.

  9. 1. Historical romance or the mystery one I think. Or maybe even ala Eve Dallas 2040s time (if Roarke is included) LOL!

    2. Time piece eh? Difficult question! Maybe the Ball watch I got as a present? I don't wear watches very often these days though. Only when I go out or travelling
