Sharing Beyond Books #21 Comment Giveaway November 5, 2011

Hello There! Welcome again to Saturday Night and Sharing Beyond Books!
Thanks for your comments this past week.

We had a variety of choices for wanna be paranormal creatures: ghosts, shapeshifters, witches, vampire, fae or faery, time traveler and a creature with telekinetic powers. Jane, I wonder if the telekinetic could be a ghost or poltergeist?

Several of us would select dogs if we could only have one pet.  mamabunny13 likes Elephants but rahter than clean up after one would choose a Chimpanzee. I'm not sure that would lessen the clean up that much. :-) Llehn would be kept busy hopping with a Kangaroo.  Mad Moose Momma selected an Aye-Aye. How many of you knew what that was? I looked it up and here is a picture of this little primate (monkey):

The Winner from SBB #20 comments is: #12 Linda (thumbelinda). There are still 9 'love' books to pick from, 5 Christmas choices and 2 Summer titles below so Linda please choose a book (or GC if overseas) from the remaining Love Books List for Giveaway or remaining Christmas Giveaway Books, the one summer book below OR pick from the ARC box and let me know your choice, your address and a choice of bookmarks by completing the WINNER FORM.

WEEK #21 Questions

Q1. mamabunny13 asks the question this week: Do you have any gift giving traditions?? To Keep the answer shorter, and since it isn't quite Christmas time I am modifying the question to Anniversary gifts for this week.
A: Our Anniversary is November 30 and this year will be our 26th. *big grin*. My DH and I are a bit funny. We tend to buy little gifts all year long so most years we don't bother getting anything special for our Anniversary.  One year we both forgot it until we got a card from a church friend. Now we exchange the same card in alternating years. Honest! I think it's my turn to give the card to him, so I better make sure I find it. LOL  He always makes me a nice dinner too - he's the cook.

Q2. Tonight is the end of daylight savings so we set the clocks back an hour. I am curious - does your location use daylight savings?? While we're talking time - if it is 10 pm my time (central) what time is it for you?
We are not big fans of daylight savings. The sun has been coming up at 6:30 each morning now it will be coming up at 5:30 - bright and early!

Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask.  Input suggestions in this Suggested Question FormAt the end of each month I will draw from the suggestions I used the month before and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions but some of you others might want to get in a question or two as we have a few people submitting most of the questions so far.  Either way - it works for me. :-)

Your turn to share:

1. Do you have any [Anniversary] gift giving traditions?? [added to limit answers.]

2.  Does your location use daylight savings?? and If it is 10 pm my time (central) what time is it for you??

SBB Comment Winners can choose a selection from the remaining  Valentine and "Love" books or the remaining Christmas Giveaway Books - there are still about 14 books available plus 2 left in the Summer titles to choose from. Also I have added the Review and ARC Box now.

My copy is a paperback from 2006
with a different cover.

  1. I am going to be boring and say no to both questions!

  2. Skipping question #1 I'll head straight to #2 ... we already changed back to normal time last week. I never seem to remember whether it's in spring or fall when we change time on the same weekend (US and Europe) and somehow I guess I'll already have forgotten about it by spring *sigh*. Anyway, I think DST sucks! I mean, seriously, it lasts longer than normal time? Am I the only one who thinks this isn't making any sense at all!?

  3. 1. Do you have any [Anniversary] gift giving traditions?? [added to limit answers.] Anniversary - no - not a big deal made of it by us.

    2. Does your location use daylight savings?? and If it is 10 pm my time (central) what time is it for you?? No, thank goodness. I hate it. One extra hour of sweltering heat in the evening, no thank you. We actually voted against it here in QLD.

  4. 1. this is our 2nd marriage so gifts are not a big deal. We usually go out to a nice dinner but that's it.
    2. We turned the clocks back last night - I dont' like driving home in the dark but it's safer for the kids at the bus stop to not be standing in the dark

  5. 1. For my anniversary, I have been trying to follow the traditional gifts. Last year, I gave my husband a book (paper) and this year a new shirt (cotton).
    2. Yes, we do do daylight savings. It is currently 8:50 am CST.

  6. I love those li'l Aye-Aye's...they are so ugly they are just cute...hehe

    1. For Christmas, the kids go to bed to an undecorated house, not even the tree...when they get up in the morning, it looks like Macy's toy department just threw up in our living room...hehe...we don't tell our kids there is a Santa, but they don't believe us...LOL

    2. Yes, we use the silly idea and it would be 11 pm in my neck of the woods...EST~!

Have a grand and groovy week ya'll...peaces...xoxo

  7. I am afraid I have to be boring too and say no :) edysicecreamlover18@gmailDOTcom

  8. We don't have any gift giving traditions.

We do observe DST. It would be 9pm for me.

  9. 1. Hubby and I do not exchange gifts for our anniversary but we usually get chinese take out and watch tv.

    2. If it's 10:00 Central time (your time) it would be 11:00 eastern standard time (my time)

  10. Since I am single, I don't have any anniversary traditions.

It would be 8pm here in California.

  11. 1. We don't have any gift-giving traditions, at all. And I'm only 17, still living at my parent's house, I don't have any anniversary :)

    2. Yes, we do daylight savings, though for us, we went from 2 am on the 6th, to 1 am, and now it's 2 pm here on the 6th :)

  12. For our wedding anniversary, we don't have any special traditions...usually a nice dinner, cards and sometimes little gifts, etc. :)

Last week, our time adjusted with daylight savings. When it's 10 PM central, it's 6 AM in Cyprus.

    Have a wonderful day! :)

  13. 1. We usually go for dinner on anniversaries. It becomes a guessing game on what to buy so I figure a nice dinner is always a good idea.

    2. It is 9:00.

  14. 1. For our anniversary we go out for dinner. No gift exchanging anymore. It's nice to have a quiet night for ourselves and a sitter for the kids.

    2. I guess it's 9 o'clock.

  15. 1. We don't have anniversary gifts, because we don't really have an anniversary. We're common-law, with "big" day to celebrate.

    2. Yes, silly daylight savings time. I'm in EST, so not much of a time difference. Although today I had to work late, so I left in the dark and got home in the dark. I hate winter for that reason. I see no daylight during the day, especially since I work in the basement at work, with no windows.

  16. 1. No anniversaries for me... yet...

    2. Yes, we use daylight savings time. I'm in the pacific time zone, so I think 10 pm central time would be 8 pm here.

  17. We do use daylight savings. It it's 10 pm where you live, is 5 am where I live.

  18. 1. Do you have any [Anniversary] gift giving traditions?? [added to limit answers.]
Nope. Am single so no anniversaries for me yet. Sad...

    2. Does your location use daylight savings?? and If it is 10 pm my time (central) what time is it for you??
Nope. It's +8 hours where I am at. Compared to most US areas?
