I have done both -- getting books signed at a convention and getting books signed at a bookstore. Both times I bought the books. I think I prefer the bookstore atmosphere. It was less crowded, more intimate.

Occasionally I may look at spoilers although I will try to avoid reading any reviews by others if I am reviewing for a Book Tour or NetGalley. When reading and reviewing for books that I pick from my TBR list, I am more likely to read reviews, even with spoilers, as I am trying to pick out my next read/listen.

Alina asks: What are some of your all time favorite recipes??

As I have said any times, I don't cook as my hubby has always been our cook. But If I had to pick favorite recipes (all being ones I could make) I would say: meatloaf (1st choice my mother's, 2nd choice hubby's); artichokes (steamed so leaves can be dipped in melted butter); pecan pie; pigs (smokies) in a blanket (crescent rolls); and easy breakfast cheese danish (cream cheese and crescent rolls).

We found a couple of products we liked last year. A grater that stores easily, works great and fixes to the counter (from HSN) and I got hubby a set of spurdle utensils that he likes a lot. Our son set us up with google wif-fi extenders that work well in the house. I can't think of any others right now.

This was another question that brought out an interesting variety of replies. Three commenters couldn't think of anything. The other six of us listed: Getting dressed up for shopping (I remember people used to dress for flying too, but not anymore); fat pens with multi colors (I had a client that used those and passed them out); costume for carnival (perhaps costumes are more for the young); the Tetris game (hmm - does Candy Crush qualify too?); Uno? ( Hey I spent holidays playing this with my grandkids - they love it and it helps the 5 year olds identify colors and numbers); gaudy costume jewelry (it was fun sometimes); and mine was cootie catchers. Sadly, I do not use my library as I have overflowing TBR shelves. I do not know if they have streaming videos or music. I just checked and they do offer books through Google Play, Libby, Overdrive, plus a few others. They offer tutoring classes online. They also offer items through Hoopla - is that streaming?

Ashfa asks: What did you think was cool then, when you were young, but isn’t cool now?

I should probably think longer on this. What comes to mind quickly is the "Cootie Catcher". At Christmas the kids had made the 'catchers' with colors and that was fun. Then the eldest child, P-Pop (my hubby), showed them how to put the bug spots in the center and start catching cooties from everyone's head. They thought it was great so clearly it is a fun thing for the young and childish!

1.  My birthday is two days after Christmas.
2.  I played the flute when I was a teenager (and a little guitar in college).
3.  Hubby and I just celebrated our 36th anniversary -my only marriage.

5. I had a cat, Gandalf, from age 18 to age 36. He was a beautiful Russian Blue and weighed 18 pounds. I am glad I have pictures and a portrait because he was a special cat and friend for me.

Yes, I always have books on my gift wish lists. Since no one really knows what I will read I am very happy (and never offended) to receive gift cards. I like to give gift cards too, although some people seem to prefer specific gifts. But I rarely know what that is and even when I have picked from a wish list I have later been told that it was an old list. :-/

Yes, I always read...no change on vacation. Since I often vacation visiting grandchildren, I tend to get to read children's book those days. During other vacations, like cruising or motor coach trips, I just read and listen like normal.

Miki asks: Did book prices go up since covid in your area or has the covid trouble affected books in another way (delay, number available etc)??

I haven't noticed higher book prices due to Covid, although I don't buy physical books very often. Our community didn't seem to have much trouble with deliveries until the last few months when we started experiencing mail and overnight delays.
This is business papers, not books. Last week we had four express packages delayed two days and one package ended up getting delivered to my house address! We believe it was a new driver who couldn't seem to find our temporary (3 years now) address that is in a shopping plaza!

Years back I tried to watch the True Blood series on HBO which was an adaptation of the Sookie Stackhouse series (aka the Southern Vampire Mysteries) by Charlaine Harris. I totally enjoyed the books but the show was, in my opinion, AWFUL (too much bad language, scantily clad characters and too much sexual content).

I have to say the Bible -- but I don't keep it closed.
This year I find myself thinking about The Iron Triangle. I have shared it several times with others reading in the same vein.

Actually Elizabeth asked this question back in 2013 (SBB#99). So I thought I'd use it again to see if anyone has a) changed their answer or b) if vacations have been different due to Covid19 restrictions or c) anyone has a Dream Vacay they's like to share.
I would like to get a true vacation soon. We still love cruising and that is what hubby picks although I'm not sure if he would really go since he rarely goes out anymore. He is on oxygen full time now but could carry his portables for a trip.
More realistically we'd like to travel before year end to see our son and his family in Illinois.

I'm sad to say I did not really watch any of the Summer Olympics. I did see a few short videos on Facebook and watched some of the paralympics on Facebook too. I was excited to see winners like Tamyra Mensah-Stock (second U.S. woman to win Olympic wrestling gold). I actually enjoy track and field but we never put on NBC.

I have not seen any at 1-3am so I haven't been offended by the poor timing. Over the past couple of months I have picked up several author free titles through Facebook offerings. Often they are available through BookFunnel rather than Amazon Kindle.
