Recap on my 2010 Challenges

Time prohibited me from really keeping track for the challenges last year but I will note which I completed and which I did not. I had lots of giveaways but haven't counted them up.

100+ Reading Challenge 2010
Hosted by Home Girl's Blog (started at J. Kaye's Book Blog)
DONE! I read 188 books in 2009
I read 173 books in 2010!
This is good considering I had a full year of posts with
reviews and giveaways
compared to only six months in 2009.

Hosted by Royal Reviews who is hosting quite a few!!
I think I will start with Curious Level - 3 books 2nd in a series
or 2nd of an author.
DONE! I read two+ Books by Author Pauline Baird Jones'
read 2nd and 3rd in Amanda Scott's Highland Series; read two books in Dee Davis' A Tac Series; read Part 1 and 2 of Stopping Time by Melissa Mar; read two historical fiction stories by Edith Pargeter; two books by Kathryn Kennedy.

I will do Spark level on this: 1 to 2 books from the Master List.
Lots of good books to choose from
and I have read many.
But there are plenty left for me to choose from!
Nope - didn't read any new books from this list this year.

Hosted by Library Things
Read 10 books in 10 Categories
I'll update this in a few days with my 10 categories!
DONE. Hmmm - I never picked the 10 categories and I'm not sure it is fair to pick them in hindsight but
I did read in the following categories (I have astericked those I probably would have chosen as my 10 original categories):
*Children, *Contemporary Romance, *Fantasy, General Fiction, *Historical Fiction, *Historical Romance, *Inspirational, Memoir, Non Fiction, *Paranormal Romance, Romantic Comedy, *Romantic Suspense, *Thriller, *Urban Fantasy, Women's Literature

Hosted by the Medieval Bookworm
I will do the Peasant level – Read 3 medieval books of any kind.
The three kinds listed are history, medieval literature and historical fiction.
DONE. I read at least three historical fiction that fit the time period. I also read a couple of Historical Romance in the time period and I am not sure if they qualify.

Hosted by Royal Reviews
I am doing level 3:
Addicted - 12 books
I don't get as many
audio books for review
so I was hesitant to
sign up for more.
DONE! I did read 27 Audiobooks and Audibles.

Hosted by My Friend Amy
Level One! Buy one book and read it before
December 31st, 2010.
I am doing this level as I get so many books for review
I don't always have to buy.
But I will for sure do at least one! I will add both options:
Indie Option--Make sure the book or books you buy are purchased at an independent bookstore.
Book Blogger Option--Buy only books you learn about on book blogs.
DONE! I bought the Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay on Audible based on blogger recommendations so I met this Challenge with the Book Blogger Option

Also hosted by Royal Reviews
Since so many of my books are eBooks on the Kindle
I will do Level 4:
Obsessed - 20 books!
DONE! I read 51 eBooks.

Hosted by Royal Reviews
I will do the second level:
Fascinated – Read 6 Fantasy Fiction novels.
DONE.

Reading Challenges Part TWO!

Finish that Series 2010 Challenge!
Another one hosted by The Royal Reviews
I'm choosing level three:
Fascinated – Finish 3 series.
DONE! I read the newest Sookie so I am up to date;
and I read the latest in the Hallow Series to be up to  date;
and I read two new books in the Women's Murder Club series so I am up to date on that too.
I also read Knight of Passion to complete the All The King's Men series.
Tempted by a Warrior also completed a trilogy I believe.

The 2010 Harlequin/Silhouette Romance Reading Challenge
This is good -
clear out the Harlequin/Silhouettes in your own TBR!!
Or you can get new ones too! :)
1) Read 1 book with a weather condition in the title (i.e. storm, rain, snow)
2) Read 1 book with a person's name in the title (i.e. Mary, John)
3) Read 1 book with a title in the title
(i.e. King, Prince, Princess, Sheik)
4) Read 1 book with a color in the title (i.e. red, blue, white)
5) Read 1 book by an author whose last name begins with the letter "R"
6) Read 1 book with an element in the title (earth, water, fire, air, spirit)
NO - I didn't read enough Harlequins to get this done although it sounded fun at the time.

Historical Fiction Reading Challenge 2010
Also hosted by The Royal Reviews
I'm doing level Three:
Addicted – Read 12 Historical Fiction novels.
NO - I only read six that I would call Historical Fiction and not Historical Romance.
I historical romance was included then I easily completed with 30 Historical Romance.

at Literary Escapism
I will sign up for 25 books/authors on this one!
DONE.
I read approximately 105
new to me authors.

Hosted by The Royal Reviews
Since I do read a lot of romance I figure I can do the highest level Four:
Obsessed – Read 20 Romance Fiction novels.
DONE - This one is pretty easy for me to meet.

Hosted by Devourer of Books
I will do 3 of these.
NO- I didn't read ANY of the Deb's books.

Thriller & Suspense Challenge 2010
Hosted by Book Chick City
Read TWELVE (12) thrillers in 2010
DONE - I read at least 12 thrillers,
suspense or mysteries.
hosted by Bart's Bookshelf
This is two books in ten catagories -
I can do that!
DONE. Noting the categories above
I have read two books in at least 10 of those categories.

What's in a Name? 3 Challege

My 2010 Resolutions!

DO YOU MAKE RESOLUTIONS?  DO YOU KEEP THEM?

Another question I have noted around the blog world:  Have you decided how you’re going to pronounce 2010?  Should you say “twenty ten” or “two thousand ten”?  I think I am a "two thousand ten" person. How about you?

Here are my 2010 Resolutions.  I hope I do better keeping them this year than I did last year! NO - NOT the ones in the picture on the left! LOL

1.    Have no more than three reviews to write at the end of any week!

2.    Lose 20 pounds – This was a goal last year and did not get done.  At least I didn’t gain weight!

3.    Minimize one work load to increase input to a new venture.

4.    Have lunch with someone (friend or work contact) at least once a month. I didn't keep this one last year either.

5.    Pray Daily!  You would think this would be natural but sometimes it gets skimmed over.  I will also try to read the Bible each day but although I have read through the entire Bible several times I have not been consistent doing the daily reading.  I am hoping other bloggers will help keep me accountable on this with a gentle comment nudge!

I was doing this for the SaSR Tuesday chat today and decided - Okay = I'll make a post on the blog and maybe that will give me more incentive!
