Today we celebrated Pentecost Sunday and it was an awesome service. Our Pastor reminded us that the Holy Spirit represents the energy and power of God. Even Jesus did not move until he was imbued with the Holy Spirit. Every touch of the Holy Spirit is for growth: personal, moral, spiritual. The Pastor's final conclusion was: Christianity is not formal religion like Episcopal, Presbyterian, Assemblies of God, etc.. Christianity is inherently and essentially supernatural: The Spirit of God working in and through any human vessel who will allow Him to move.
This is one of the songs we sang as a choir this morning.
Ours was much livelier but this one is sweetly done.
John 14:16-17 (New King Jamesl Version)
16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
By the close of service I could easily pray with others: Holy Spirit, change my heart and move in me.
