Our Pastor gave a brief opening Memorial Prayer and preached a fine message from Ephesians 1:19-22 on the Power of God for believers. But my heart was focused on the meaning of Memorial Day. It is a time we take flowers to the graves of our fallen soldiers in memory that they died for our freedom. Something our Pastor said did make me think: in like fashion, we should take offerings to the Cross in memory that Christ sacrificed for the freedom of ALL mankind.
I spent quite some time looking at some very stirring videos to fit Memorial Day.There were many were good ones but this one instantly brought tears to my eyes! It's a shame that it seems to stumble and pause but it is still very moving.
Philippians 3:20-21
20 But our commonwealth is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will change our lowly body to be like His glorious body, by the power which enables Him even to subject all things to Himself.
20 But our commonwealth is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will change our lowly body to be like His glorious body, by the power which enables Him even to subject all things to Himself.
I pray today for comfort for all those who remember and feel the pain of having lost a loved one in the service of our country.
