My Living Will - Courtesy of Maxine!

As you may know I am an Attorney. A friend sent this to me a month or so ago and I just got around to looking at the email yesterday. It so happened I was preparing Living Wills for some clients and this sure perked up my day! I had to share the smile. I have made a few revisions, noted in red, to personalize this for me! *GRIN*

I,  MAXINE MARTHA,  being of sound mind and body, (ya think?)
do not wish to be kept alive indefinitely by artificial means.
Under no circumstances should my fate be put in the hands
of pinhead politicians who couldn't pass ninth-grade biology
if their lives depended on it,
or lawyers and doctors interested in simply
running up the bills (yours truly excluded).
If a reasonable amount of time passes
and I fail to ask for at least one of the following:

Glass of wine
Chocolate
Margarita
Sex
Chocolate Martini
Cold Beer Books
Chocolate
Sex
Chicken fried steak
Cream Gravy Audio Books
Chocolate
Mexican Food
Chocolate
French Fries
Sex
Chocolate
Pizza
Chocolate Butter Pecan Ice Cream
Cup of Tea
Chocolate
Sex
Chocolate
Kindle with Books

It should be presumed that I won't ever get better.
When such a determination is reached,
I hereby instruct my appointed person
and attending physicians to pull the plug, reel in the
tubes and call it a day.
Have a Happy Tuesday!

It's Monday! What are you Reading June 28 2010?

This meme starts at One Person's Journey Through A World of Books!

What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

I had another good week although I only finished two books. I completed several reviews and posted three new Hachette giveaways this week.

I didn't get to visit many other blogs and those I did visit were mostly not until Saturday.

PB: The Wild Irish Sea: A windswept tale of love and magic by Loucinda McGary
This got bumped one book by Rish No Secrets but I will start it this week. Reviewing for Sourcebooks to post in July.

Product Description

The Wild Irish Sea: A windswept tale of love and magicDrawn to a force he can't resist...

She never saw him coming...
Amber O'Neill knew without a doubt that her brother was in mortal danger. Rushing heedlessly to the rocky shores of Ireland, Amber was stunned to find her rescue mission derailed by a gorgeous, but deeply flawed Irishman...
The tumultuous sea, the intertwined fates of the coastal villagers, and unearthly tales of a hidden selkie prince bring Kevin and Amber together in a connection of mind, body, and soul that neither can deny...

Kindle: Loading data this week.

Audio CD The Bride Collector by Ted Dekker. Half way done - good story. Lots of detail on mental illness is this book.
Reviewing for Hachette.

Product Description

The Bride CollectorFBI Special agent Brad Raines is facing his toughest case yet. A Denver serial killer has killed four beautiful young women, leaving a bridal veil at each crime scene, and he's picking up his pace. Unable to crack the case, Raines appeals for help from a most unusual source: residents of the Center for Wellbeing and Intelligence, a private psychiatric institution for mentally ill individuals whose are extraordinarily gifted.

It's there that he meets Paradise, a young woman who witnessed her father murder her family and barely escaped his hand. Diagnosed with schizophrenia, Paradise may also have an extrasensory gift: the ability to experience the final moments of a person's life when she touches the dead body.

In a desperate attempt to find the killer, Raines enlists Paradise's help. In an effort to win her trust, he befriends this strange young woman and begins to see in her qualities that most 'sane people' sorely lack. Gradually, he starts to question whether sanity resides outside the hospital walls...or inside.

As the Bride Collector picks up the pace-and volume-of his gruesome crucifixions, the case becomes even more personal to Raines when his friend and colleague, a beautiful young forensic psychologist, becomes the Bride Collector's next target.

The FBI believes that the killer plans to murder seven women. Can Paradise help before it's too late?
