Sunday Words of Encouragement September 13, 2020

We again enjoyed sharing worship and praise with our church family by engaging online. Pastor continued his sermon series on God’s Promises. Today's promise is “Victory”.

We are told that nothing can separate us from the Love of God. Romans 8:35-39. But as humans we tend to wonder and doubt: “What about this?” or “What about that?” But for believers, there are no doubts about it…. through every evil attack, God promises victory.

Who can win battles against this world? 1 John 5:5 tells us it is those who believe Jesus is the Son of God.

The Point: As a child of God you are guaranteed victory over every evil in this world.

There are no “what abouts?” for those who believe and have a grounded faith. For every child of God, an overwhelming victory is ours. Romans 8:37.

Pray and claim your victory!

We are excited this month to be contributing to the FireBible project – buying Bibles this year for Sri Lanka.
This old time hymn came to mind: Victory In Jesus
Verses for Today:
Romans 8:35-39 (NIV)
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 John 5:4-5 (NIV)
4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

Lord, I give You thanks that I can trust You to give me victory in any trial I may face.

Sunday Words of Encouragement July 1, 2012

We were out this afternoon to another hot ballgame.
We had a lovely service this morning with a guest pianist. He played some great medleys with patriotic songs melding into beautiful and powerful old hymns of victory.
Interestingly I finished reading the Christian novel Flabbargasted and I think it ties in well with victory and American views. I will post the review on July 4.

Meanwhile - please enjoy this video. (I still cannot see videos on this computer as something is blocking the video... I have to get time to figure this out.

Verses for today:
Psalm 96:1-2
Sing to the Lord a new song;
    sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, praise his name;
    proclaim his salvation day after day.

Today I am thankful for the many blessings America has but more so I am thankful for the Victory I have in Christ.
