Sunday Words of Encouragement December 17, 2023 - A Promise of Joy!

I made it to church today! There was a wonderful children’s program, The Promise of Christmas. God fulfilled His promise to man by providing salvation and a King through Jesus Christ. It was a wonderfully sweet program.

Pastor shared a few words from Matthew 1:24-25. 'They called his name Emmanuel, which means God with us.' Jesus came to save his people from their sin.

Jesus was not born of sinful nature but born of the life-giving Spirit. God did it for the love of ALL people. Yes, you and me, but He came for the “whole world”. John 3:16-17.

We have broken DNA. Habitual sin, addiction, and deliberate sin. Jesus had none of these. His blood was the atonement for our sins. The Father’s love, and the son’s sacrifice give each person the opportunity to have eternal life. John 3:18-21.

Not everyone knows the message. Not everyone will accept the message. But those who do believe have the directive to share with others the promise and the hope that brings the greatest of all joys!

I like this song video for today: The Shepherd’s Song! “The Joyous Refrain.”
Verses for Today:
John 3:16 New International Version
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

I give thanks to a Father who loves the world and a Son who gives the greatest gift, and to the Spirit who speaks within my soul.
