Sunday Words of Encouragement September 23, 2018

We enjoyed the church service this morning. The songs were all new to me.
The pastor’s service was titled: Join the Fight. He encouraged the congregation to join him in the fight to reach the next generation.

The fall in the Garden resulted in enmity between man and woman and their offspring. Genesis 3:15.

God wants us to always be growing. Children and grandchildren are important.
We are admonished to “fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes”. Nehemiah 4:14.

Remember that sin is crouching at the door seeking to attack your children. Satan is also the author of confusion; he encourages busy lives that won’t focus on God.

God wants followers of Christ, as Christian parents should. We are to share the message of Christ. Be aware of the friendships your children make as some friends can last a lifetime.

Pastor presented four points for his message:
1. Right Relationships.
Proverbs 13:20 -- Show me your friends, I'll show you the future.
Psalm 92:12 -- Those who are planted in the house of the Lord will flourish.

2. God-given Design.
Knowing God's purpose will silence voices of confusion or disruption.
Acts 19:26 -- Don't worship unknown God

3. Others First.
Philippians 2:4 -- Look to the interests of Others. Only a life for others is a life with living.

If Satan can't get us to sin, then he wants us busy and not necessarily caring for each other.

God wants us to be productive in God's purpose. Parents are not perfect, but we need to be like “Those who stumbled and went on”.

4. Authentic faith.
Christianity is a relationship, not a religion.
Without Christians who prepared the way before, our current churches wouldn't be.
We all should be seeking to come together to reach the community. First we need to follow Him.
And we need to be down on your knees. Ephesians 3:14.

This is one of the worship songs we sang this morning: You Reign by Citipointe.
A Verse for Today:
Nehemiah 4:14 (NIV)
14 After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.”
