Sunday Words of Encouragement December 8, 2019 - Advent Week 2

Our Sunday School teacher shared an interesting prophetic message regarding events that may occur in December 2019 and in 2020. The point was that we need to recognize that we shouldn’t ask whose side God is on, but rather we need to ask ourselves: “Whose side are we on?” We need to be on God’s side.

We enjoyed good praise and worship and our pastor shared a Christmas message on “Preparation”.

The Advent Wreath:
The second candle, also purple, represents faith. It is called the “Bethlehem Candle” as a reminder of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem.

(Also known as the candle of Preparation, Waiting or Prophecy.)

Isaiah 40:3-5:
“A voice of one calling:
‘In the wilderness prepare
the way for the Lord;
make straight in the desert
a highway for our God.
Every valley shall be raised up,
every mountain and hill made low;
the rough ground shall become level,
the rugged places a plain.
And the glory of the Lord will be revealed,
and all people will see it together.
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.’”
