The Holy Spirit is a person. He loves us and will never leave us. But we should be careful not to grieve Him. Ephesians 4:30.
How could we grieve the Spirit?
We grieve the Spirit by open and gross sin. things like theft and foul language, Eph 4:28-29; bitterness and anger, Eph 4:31.
We grieve the Spirit by licentious thoughts and desires. Immorality can grieve the Spirit, Eph 4:18-19.
We can grieve the Spirit by neglect. Are we open to hearing His voice? Do we forget that He is always there?
We can grieve the Spirit by resistance. Sometimes we want to keep doing things the way we are accustomed to even if there is a voice telling us to change. D0 we pray at the end of the day: “Lord, please bless what I did today”? OR do we pray as we start the day: “Lord, please guide me so all I do today will be pleasing to you and a blessing”?
Are we maturing to do as we should, yielding to the Holy Spirit?
This has good words if we remember that He 'is in this place' wherever we are!

Ephesians 4:4-6 NIV
4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Today I pray - Lord, renew a right Spirit in me.
