Thanks to everyone who commented last week.

WEEK #367
(One Question.)
bn100 asks: How do you feel about authors asking you to fund their writing??
I have seen requests for funding but they have been through friends of a sick author which is rather nice. Otherwise, I can't think of any direct requests and I am not sure I would participate... other than buying a book.
Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I draw from the suggestions I used during the month and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions. Thanks for sending in questions! The supply of questions is dwindling so share some if you think of any -- even if they are duplicates I'll weed through or try to modify.
April comments were shared by Alina and bn100. Alina gets $2.50 credit and bn100 gets first 1/2 credit towards a book pick.
Your turn to share. bn100 asks: How do you feel about authors asking you to fund their writing??
SBB Comment Winners can choose a selection from the Updated ARC and Other books, including the "Love" and Christmas titles all in one post.
SBB Rules:
a) Must be a follower.
b) Share a comment on the question above.
Open internationally and an international winner may get a smaller book or a $5.00 GC if I decide the mailing is too much.
I will pick a Comment winner from all comments made through Saturday May 4, 2019 at 5 PM central.
I don't think I'd participate either.... I'd prefer just buying their books
ReplyDeleteI don't see why I should fund someones writing, but if the author is any good my support will be in form of a purchased book.
ReplyDeleteI've never encountered that before but while I would be happy to buy books from an author I like, I doubt I would fund their writing.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winner!
ReplyDeleteI would be turned right off if an author had the audacity to ask me for funding.
Happy Easter to you all!
find it odd
ReplyDeleteJust asking to fund their writing would be a problem, but asking due to a serious illness or other unexpected emergency --that I would consider giving tol
ReplyDeleteI would be uncomfortable if asked to fund the writing. Happy to buy great books though.
ReplyDeleteI saw it and it's in the form of Patreon: exclusive rights to some never-before-seen scenes or early reveal of the cover of a book or exclusive interviews and videos with the author... I don't mind it, but I didn't participate to it since it wasn't from a beloved author. If it were from one of them I would do it.
ReplyDeleteI have never encountered an author asking for funding, but I probably wouldn't do it. I would buy their book though.
ReplyDeleteNo, I wouldn't do that, I would still buy their book though.
ReplyDeleteI've not seen that, yet I enjoy buying books! :)
ReplyDeleteI would not do that.
