Sorry that I missed posting last week. Our weather has been warmer but it is getting cold again tonight.
Thanks to everyone who commented last post.
That was fun and a bit surprising. 18 of us do not name our devices but Lisa does! CarolL occasionally calls them names, miki names her plushies, Fredamans names her plants and Sue named her first car Matilda!

The Winner from SBB #238 comments is: #7 Mystica who can make a GC choice if international or book choice from the Updated ARC/Review titles or (not yet updated) Love titles - all linked near the end of the post. I'm hoping to update the book choices - maybe the beginning of next year, lol. Please let me know your choice by completing the WINNER FORM.
WEEK #239
(One Question.)
Elizabeth asks: 1) Does the country you live in celebrate Carnival? If so, what country and what are you planning to celebrate this year???I realized that this is a week late. :-) I think Carnival equates to Mardi Gras celebrated primarily in New Orleans but in other Southern places too. We were in Biloxi earlier this week and had to drive around the parades to get home. I don't think Florida celebrates and we didn't. HOWEVER - we did do a little celebration of Chinese New Year with our Chinese daughter-in-law. Happy Monkey New Year!

Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I draw from the suggestions I used during the month and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions. Thanks for sending in questions! The supply of questions is dwindling so share some if you think of any -- even if they are duplicates I'll weed through or try to modify to use.
Your turn to share:

SBB Comment Winners can choose a selection from the Valentine and "Love" books or the February 2015 Newly Updated ARC/Review List. (My daughter pulled several of the Christmas titles to give with gift bags we made up for the nursing homes. One of these days I will get together a new box of Christmas titles.)
SBB Rules:
a) Must be a follower.
b) Share a comment on the question above.
Open internationally and an international winner may get a smaller book or a $5.00 GC if I decide the mailing is too much.
I will pick a Comment winner from all comments made through Saturday February 20, 2015 at 5 PM central.
I am going to go with Mardi Gras celebrated primarily in New Orleans. To my knowledge Tennessee doesn't do this.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, winners!
ReplyDeleteI live in Italy and I believe everyone has heard about the Carnival of Venice. Even more, almost every city/town, has it's own carnival. Those are meant mostly for kids, so I rarely attend them.
No, not where I live.
ReplyDeleteNope we don't celebrate Carnival here in India.
ReplyDeleteCarnaval are plural in Belgium. The main one are at Mardi Gras time like those of Binche or Alost but then we have several other after some even until august. To resume it's a little like each town has its own with a lot of difference in the costume, tradition etc.
ReplyDeleteMine will be held at Laetere ( mid careme) but is very similar to teh one of Binche as it's quite near
i plan to hide and read^^ because even if i was born at teh Caranavl i prefer the quiet especially since a lot of people forgot the spirit of caranaval and just try to get drunk teh fastest so not too safe in my opinion
Nope. I thought about going to one back in my younger days. I don't have the energy for that sort of stuff anymore. Plus, getting drunk and having to deal with a bunch of drunk people was never my idea of fun. That seems to be all that Mardi Gras is about.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winner!
ReplyDeleteI live in Canada and we do have Carnival celebrations but I do not regularly attend, only sometimes. Toronto throws a big bash!
We have a LOT of different regional carnivals etc here in Australia. It's a big country.
ReplyDeleteSt. Paul does have Carnival but it has a winter festival that lots of people attend---I'm not a cold weather lover so I prefer to stay home and read books.
ReplyDeleteI live in Iowa and Mardi Gras in LA is the closest for a Carnival. I have never attended but it sure looks like fun!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in Europe, there were major Carnival celebrations - ten days of parties, decorations, costumes, and parades.
ReplyDeleteSince I live in Canada, Toronto does have a celebration, however, I do not believe it is in any other areas.
ReplyDeleteno
ReplyDeleteNo celebration :(
