My Review post today is Holiday in Bologna by Lindsay Townsend. The heroine takes a vacation trip to Italy to meet her father's family and maybe she finds love? This got me to wondering if anyone else had romance on a special vacation trip? Or...what romantic places did we go to on your honeymoon? My DH and I went to Marsh Harbor in the Abacos and had a wonderful time! We will celebrate 25 years this November! Wow- time flies.
Madeira, Portugal from the Rotterdam Ship
Then I tried to think what my favorite romantic setting is/would be. A transatlantic cruise with a stop in Madeira, Portugal? A mountain cabin with a nice warm romantic fire? A resort suite in Cabo San Lucas with a nice hot tub? A River Rhine cruise? A Manor Hotel in Stratford-Upon-Avon (birthplace of Shakspeare)? A resort apartment on Fowl Cay in the Bahamas? Or the boat trip through the Eleuthera Islands? I've been fortunate enough to visit all of these places with my husband. I think the nice thing for us is that we are comfortable even at home so we don't necessarily need to travel to a romantic place! So then I asked my husband what his favorite romantic place is.
Now I am going to let you guess his answer!

Hi Martha:
ReplyDeleteI guess your husband's favorite romantic place is either a famous restaurant in an exotic locale or a sporting event.
My idea of romance is pitching a tent in the lobby of the Conrad Hilton in Chicago. Then you can be roughing it in luxury.
At first I was going to say your husband said "in bed." ;-) But no, I think he said "anywhere with you." At least that's what he SHOULD have said. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite place is St. Lucia - we love that island, also Aruba. Love those!
ReplyDeleteI guess Cabo is what your husband said for romance.

I find the ocean to be very romantic. We honeymooned at an ocean resort, and we have gone on several cruises. I am thinking that our next trip will probably be the most romantic of our marriage. In a few months we are taking a cruise of the Greek Isles!

We love Puerto Vallarta...way south of the city itself at a lovely hotel overlooking the ocean.
ReplyDeleteHard to guess what your husband might have said! How about snuggling on the couch in your livingroom with you and your animals!

The most romantic getaway hubby and I have had (thus far) was on a cruise ship in the Gulf of Mexico....Where I'd love to go, but haven't gotten to yet, would be Florence, Italy, or Ireland. And your hubby's guess was...Let's see... a bed and breakfast in the English Countryside?

The most romantic getaway hubby and I had was when he took me to Australia for our 10th year anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing your husband's fav romantic spot is the mountain cabin.

My first honeymoon was spent gazing at the ocean. Our 53rd was spent the same way. I guess we're in a rut. This time we had champagne.
ReplyDeleteYour husband likes Europe and action.
The review made me sigh for Italy.

My favorite romantic getaway is a cabin in the mountains, preferably near a lake. In either warm or cold weather this setting makes for great getaway romance!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing that your husband's favorite romantic place is at home with you. :)
