Three Winners for Hearing From God Each Morning by Joyce Meyer

This morning's devotional in Hearing From God Each Morning was wonderful and I was hoping to get time early today to post a bit about it. That didn't happen.  However in looking up the link in the Giveaway post I discovered that I had apparently not put the Giveaway up on the Sticky list and I had not yet selected winners.  SO my face is a bit red!

On the other hand - finding this deficiency is a perfect example of God's nudging! Today's page is titled:
"God Speaks Through Promptings".  If you would like, go to the Book Browse/Open book and type in February 18 for the search.  You can read the devotional and be reminded that God does speak to us to take certain actions, like praying for a need even if we don't fully know what it is.  He knows!

I briefly thought about extending the Giveaway another week but then decided that wouldn't be fair to those who entered timely.  So I went ahead and picked the three winners.  I do apologize to others who may have entered if they had seen the link on the list, but let me encourage anyone interested in getting this book to hunt down other contests at Hachette if any are still going on or break down and buy the book - you won't be sorry.  In fact I may have to buy one for my daughter because she wanted mine but it is helping me get a Bible verse read every day! :o)

CONGRATULATIONS TO
#3.

#9
gahome2mom

and #4

I will e-mail the winners with the Hachette form to complete.

BTW- should anyone ever notice that I haven't posted a Giveaway in the Sticky note list or that I missed announcing winners ---- feel free to e-mail me, comment or otherwise "nudge" me!  *G*

Recommend a Paranormal Read - Comment Giveaway

Happy Fat Tuesday everyone! Sometime last week I had a topic I wanted to post this week.  Then a cold befuddled me and I can't remember it! [That's my story and I'm sticking to it!]

So instead I decided to seek recommendations from the crowd!  True I do not need a lot of new books as I have plenty. BUT sometimes I feel like reading something different.  The past week or so I have been thinking paranormal.

I have read or listened to all of the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris.  I just checked and I have to wait until May for book #10 Dead in the Family.

I have also read or listened to all of the Rachel Morgan Hallows series by Kim Harrison. Looks like the newest, #8, Black Magic Sanctions, is coming out February 23 so I don't have too long to wait for that one.  I hope it will be at Audible!

Then there is the Karen Chance
Cassandra Palmer series.
I have read or listened to those so far too.
Book #5 isn't due out until Summer 2011
so I'll be waiting a while for that one.
Touch the Dark is Book #1.

I enjoyed Red Fire by Deidre Knight and I have Red Kiss and also Parallel Attraction to read.

So do you see a pattern here?  I like my paranormals in series it seems!  Now lets look for something a bit different --- how about a good werewolf book?  Or a good Dragon Shapshifter - I haven't read too many of those and think I'd like them.  Or other shifters too.
I'm looking for more choices and need your help!

What books would you like to recommend for me to look at when I really need a different paranormal read?

COMMENT TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY:  All comments will go into a drawing for a Friday Pick choice - a book for US or Canadian visitor or $5.00 gift card for an international visitor.  I will choose the winner by random.org after midnight Thursday to post on Friday.

What are you reading Monday February 15, 2010

This meme has been moved to
One Person's Journey Through A World of Books!
Thanks Shelia for carrying this forward from J. Kaye.

Same old story - I did a few more reviews this past week but I am still behind.  A bit of a cold this week had me a bit foggy this weekend.  I am going to try to do what J. Kaye suggested - write a review each night.

[Note re codes: YGR is You Gotta Read Reviews. MBS is this blog - Martha's BookShelf!]

Finished:

PB:  Saint Nick by Fred Tribuzzo.  This was quite interesting as a version of The Christmas Carol! Reviewing for Author Marketing Experts - to be posted here at MBS.

PB: A Black Tie Affair by Sherrill Bodine. This was a fun easy read - toxic gowns, missing gowns and fiery passions between former "friends"! Reviewing for Hachette.  To be posted here at MBS.  Enter Giveaway.

Kindle2:  ------------
Journey to Redemption by Anne Patrick. I enjoyed this a lot.  There were good twists to this inspirational detective tale.  Reading and reviewing for the Author - to be posted here at MBS.

Audio CD: --------------

Currently reading:

PB:  Deadly Code by JP O'Donnell.  A thriller PI novel that starts out with a bang in the form of a car explosion! Sounds like some twists in this story too.  Reviewing for Author Marketing Experts - to be posted here at MBS.

Kindle2:  The White Rainbow, Book 6 of the Wounded Warriors Series by Karen Wiesner. Inspirational Women's Fiction. Jessie Nelson has been telling herself she doesn't deserve or believe in second chances, especially when it comes to love...until her "white rainbow" appears in a corporate pirate who conquers her, heart and soul. Reading and reviewing for the author and YGR.

Audio CD:  Absolute Power by David Baldacci.  This was Baldacci's first book back in 1996 - Political thriller.  I am on disc 7 on this.  Wonderful forensic detail - I like that. Reviewing for Hachette - to be posted here at MBS.  Enter Giveaway!
