It's Monday! What are you Reading October 18, 2010?

This meme starts at One Person's Journey Through A World of Books!

What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

As usual, I had another good reading week, finishing three print books.

I posted three reviews,  two with Giveaways, one Comment Giveaway and a Halloween Giveaway.

It looks like I will not get to review the books I read from my TBRs so I will be giving a rating and a short summary comment on those in these Monday posts.

I visited several  "It's Monday" posts later in the week as I was busy with a legal memorandum early last week. I did visit a few blogs with the Enquiring meme and reading reviews that were not with It's Monday links. Also I participated in the Muse Online Writers Conference which was good experience and informative.
I am still limited by work commitments that take priority over commenting and reviewing. :)

These were last week's posts plus several Winner posts not listed.

PB:  Notes To Stephanie: Middle Aged Love Letters And Life Stories by Jeffrey W. Turner.  This is like reading a private journal with much pathos - joy and sorrow - very touching. I will post the review and Giveaway later this week.
    Product Description
Notes To Stephanie: Middle Aged Love Letters And Life StoriesYoung adults are not the only ones that fall in love and get married. People in their middle age do that too. This book is the story of one such couple as told by the "notes" written by the husband to his wife. These notes are not just love notes but also tell the tale of how life tests people and how its events sometimes feel overwhelming. They also show how couples do get through difficult times and proceed on through their lives, not knowing to what destination many times. If you sometimes wonder if you are the only one over 40 with a difficult adult child, a conflict at work, or something else trying your patience, you are not alone. You will also know that life is also good, and sometimes filled with hope and love. Even for a brief time. These tales of life's events and stories that we all share are contained in these pages, these "notes to Stephanie".
Audio: Katie Up and Down the Hall: The True Story of How One Dog Turned Five Neighbors into a Family by Glenn Plaskin.  I am enjoying listening to the antics of sweet Katie.
Katie Up and Down the Hall: The True Story of How One Dog Turned Five Neighbors into a FamilyA personal memoir by bestselling author and celebrity journalist Glenn Plaskin, KATIE is a moving story about a man who discovers the true meaning of family after adopting a cocker spaniel puppy. Through the magnetic personality of his mischievous dog, the author soon makes powerful connections with several of his down-the-hall neighbors in a high-rise located in the unique Battery Park City neighborhood of Lower Manhattan. First, Katie trots into the lives of Pearl and Arthur, a warm-hearted elderly couple just a few doors down from Glenn. Later, John, a single Dad, and his rambunctious young son, Ryan, also move in and are seduced by Katie's charms....read more.

Line Edits: I hope to finish formatting two more books this week for release.

Upcoming books:   I am letting my followers pick the next read again at this post.
PB:  I have three Sourcebooks still to read for this month.  I am also starting The Forever Queen: Sometimes, a desperate kingdom is in need of one great woman by Helen Hollick. The review is not due until mid November but the book is 621 pages and I have seven books set before it in the first two weeks of November so I am getting a jump by starting this one.
Kindle:  I will probably start one of the Sourcebook prints on the Kindle to keep the books moving. I also am expect a couple other author books this week in preparation of reviews/interviews with giveaways. They will be posted with the November books.
Audio: Next up is Don't Blink by James Patterson and Howard Roughan.

I have a seven good Soursebook paperback books lined up for November and December with book giveaways. Plus three Hachette books for November tours; three blog tours for Pump up Your Book Promotion and several author review/giveaways too. More busy times ahead. :)

Sunday Words of Encouragement October 17, 2010

This morning was Minister Appreciation day so we thanked all of pastoral leaders. We had a visit from a missionary who has been serving in a Communist country.  His message was rather pointed at the wealth we Americans take for granted. His sermon was to remind us that we are responsible for those outside our gates.  Gives you great pause when you think on it.

This seems like an appropriate song to go with the message today.
If We Are the Body by Casting Crowns
    A Verse for Today:
    Luke 16:25
But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.

This morning we prayed for all ministers that they would be willing servants and that God might use them for His own glory.
