This is the first Sunday of Advent - a day of hope and waiting. Our Pastor gave a message on "Waiting for Christmas."
Although he didn't say these words precisely, it struck me near the end of the sermon that we should be waiting - not so much for Christmas but more appropriately - for Christ!
Verses for today:
Luke 3:4-6 New International Version
4As is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: "A voice of one calling in the desert,
'Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.
5Every valley shall be filled in,
every mountain and hill made low.
The crooked roads shall become straight,
the rough ways smooth.
6And all mankind will see God's salvation.
I hope that you will each be a person who marvels at the true message of the Christmas season!
