It's Monday! What are you Reading November 15, 2010?

This meme starts at One Person's Journey Through A World of Books!

What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

I finished five good books this week and just have a bit left on a fourth. I posted two Guest Posts and three Reviews, one author Q&A and two Hachette Giveaways.

As noted before,  for this feature I will only be giving a rating and a short summary comment on books I read from my TBRs or as fillers - which aren't many :).

I did a little visiting early in the week. Then we had several motels where the Wifi connection was completely iffy.

These were last week's posts plus Winner posts not listed.
Almost HeavenFinished Reading:
PB and (Kindle)Almost Heaven by Chris Fabry. Inspirational; my rating 4.75. The review is linked above.

Stronger than Sin (Sin 2)
PB:  Stronger than Sin (Sin 2) by Caridad Pineiro - Paranormal Romance; my rating 4.5. The review and Hachette giveaway are linked above.

Uncertain Heart (Seasons of Redemption, Book 2)
PB:  Uncertain Heart (Seasons of Redemption, Book 2) by Andrea Boeshaar.  I received this book from Glass Road PR. It is charming and light. The review will be posted Monday.
The year is 1866, and Sarah McCabe has wanderlust. In an effort to become independent of her family back in Missouri, she accepts a governess position in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Richard Navis is a man determined to finish his indentureship to Captain Brian Sinclair and take over his family's farm. But when he falls in love with Sarah, his homesteading goals blur.  What's more, Richard fears she's fallen victim to the captain's charm and persuasion.

Kindle:  Synarchy Book 1: The Awakening by D.C.S. This book was provided by Pump up Your Book Promotion. This is a very good read - I finished it in one day. I will post the review on Tuesday.
Product Description
Synarchy Book 1: The AwakeningA plan is exposed, centuries in the making and so sinister not even the legend himself could have predicted the depth of its impact on the world. In his lifetime Stefano Terenzio had a merciless ambition for absolute power. Two generations later the shock wave he ignited was still being felt. Now, as the world inches closer to 2012 sides are chosen, families divide and an epic battle begins that will determine whether mankind continues existing in a world of lies or shatters the chains that have held us prisoner since his-story was written.

Shocking yet hopeful, Synarchy slowly unravels the tightly laced reality we have created for ourselves. Blending the metaphysical with conspiracy, fact with fiction, debut author DCS has opened up a world that will force you to rethink everything you believe about your own. The knowledge within provokes the question: do you really want to know?

Audible:  New Tricks by David Rosenfelt. I really love this series.  I will post a review for this on Wednesday.

Line Edits: ------

Currently reading:
The Forever QueenPrint & Kindle: The Forever Queen: Sometimes, a desperate kingdom is in need of one great woman by Helen Hollick. This book is provided by Sourcesbooks and the review is to be posted Thursday, November 18.  I am at 36% and this is not moving very quickly.
~ Synopsis ~

The year is 1013, and the young Emma of Normandy is to marry King Æthelred of England. It is a marriage as doomed to fail as Æthelred's entire incompetent reign. But Emma is to find her own happiness when Cnut of Denmark seizes the English throne...

City of Glass (Mortal Instruments)Audible:
City of Glass (Mortal Instruments) by Cassandra Clare. I wanted to read something by Cassandra Clare and got this book through my Audible subscription.  I didn't realize it was the third in the Immortal Series and now I am wondering if I should stop and read Book 1 and Book 2. If anyone has read this perhaps you'll let me know if you think I should read the prior books first.
Product Description
To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters -- never mind that enter-ing the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.
As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadow-hunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadow-hunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City -- whatever the cost?
Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the final installment of the New York Times best-selling trilogy The Mortal Instruments.

Audio:  Room: A Novel by Emma Donoghue. This is a Hachette Audiobook for review and Giveaway. I will start listening to this tomorrow as I go to work. I couldn't get my DH to listen to the child's voice on our trip.Room: A Novel To five-year-old Jack, ROOM is the entire world. It is where he was born and grew up; it's where he lives with his Ma as they learn and read and eat and sleep and
play. At night, his Ma shuts him safely in the wardrobe, where he is meant to be
asleep when Old Nick visits.

ROOM is home to Jack, but to Ma, it is the prison where Old Nick has held her captive for seven years. Through determination, ingenuity, and
fierce motherly love, Ma has created a life for Jack. But she knows it's not
enough…not for her or for him. She devises a bold escape plan, one that relies
on her young son's bravery and a lot of luck. What she does not realize is just
how unprepared she is for the plan to actually work.

Line Edits:  I have one book that will get released this week. Working on three others to get released also. Then I'll start on more edits.

Upcoming books:
PR:  Synarchy Book 2: The Ascension by DCS. I postponed this one week as I would have had to really push to get this in this week. On the other hand, I am anxious to continue this series after reading book 1.

PR:  The Taming of the Wolf by Lydia Dare. I have received this for review from Sourcebooks.
