Sunday Words of Encouragement August 29, 2010

Our Pastor was on vacation this week so our Associate, Youth Pastor gave the message. He spoke on enduring, holding on, holding out, and staying the course through whatever suffering God may have placed in our path. 1 Peter 2:18-23.  He asked why God does not always bale us out of our difficult situations. We do not always understand the hardships or discipline that comes to us but, if we stick it out, we can be confident that it is for God's glory.

This song is very fitting:
Praise You in this Storm by Casting Crowns
Verses for today:
1 Peter 1:6-7 (New International Version)
6In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

I prayed thanks that God guides us, directs us, disciplines us and, in all things, sees us through.
