I am linking with Sunday Post at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's Monday! What Are You Reading now at The Book Date.
What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.
Work was pressing as I was trying to get work done before flying out to spend time with our son and his family.
Now I am in Illinois and it is hotter than our Florida weather. Here is over 90 every day and mostly sunny while it was raining at home.
My reading was very enjoyable even though I only finished two books. 1 (16 hrs) Audible and 1 ebook. I posted three reviews on the blog and one at Goodreads, plus my usual memes.
I visited only 22 blogs last week.
Shout Out this week for Drey's Library who shares sci fi books that catch my eyes.
Thank you to all the nice people who visit me.

The Letters (The Inn at Eagle Hill Book #1): A Novel
by Suzanne Woods Fisher
I got a good start on this during the air flight. I am enjoying the characters and story.
Source: I have had my print copy for several years. I think it was a 2013 book through Book Sneeze that I didn't get to read because my daughter took it to read. I also got it through free Kindle in 2016. We just recently bought copies through ChristianBook.com for Ladies Book Club reading this month.
Rose Schrock is a plain woman with a simple plan. Determined to find a way to support her family and pay off her late husband's debts, she sets to work to convert the basement of her Amish farmhouse into an inn. While her family, especially her cranky mother-in-law, is unhappy with Rose's big idea, her friend and neighbor, Galen King, supports the decision and he helps with the conversion. As Rose finalizes preparations for visitors, she prays. She asks God to bless each guest who stays at the Inn at Eagle Hill. As the first guest arrives and settles in, Rose is surprised to discover that her entire family is the one who receives the blessings, in the most unexpected ways. And she's even more surprised when that guest decides to play matchmaker for Galen King.
With her signature plot twists combined with gentle Amish romance, bestselling author Suzanne Woods Fisher invites readers back to Stoney Ridge for fresh stories of simple pleasures despite the complexity of life. Fisher's tale of God's providence and provision will delight her fans and create many new ones. Welcome to the Inn at Eagle Hill.
3. eBook/Kindle (Author)
Lance: A Spirit Unbroken
by Walter Stoffel
I am just starting this
but am drawn to the cover and blurb.
Marley meets…Cujo?
A dog down the block is being forced to live outside, at the mercy of abusers, wild animals and brutal weather. The author does nothing—at first. Then, an accidental meeting with Lance, a Border Collie, sets the wheels in motion for a life-saving rescue and a disappointing discovery: Lance turns out to be a semi-feral dog.
During the first twenty-four hours of his liberation, he attacks both the author and his wife, and soon proves to be a threat to anyone he can get his teeth on. His rescuers ask themselves: Do we euthanize the dog we rescued? Making their soul-searching even more difficult is Lance’s alter ego; when not threatening, he’s getting into all kinds of highly entertaining mischief. Among the many “victims” of his hilarious quirkiness are a State Trooper, the local school bus driver, and a neighborhood drug dealer.
This rollicking and—at times—heart-wrenching, true-life account of the unorthodox rescue of an unorthodox dog has been called “riveting,” “spellbinding,” and ”jaw-dropping.” The compelling tale reveals as much about the rescuers as it does the rescued.
Lance: A Spirit Unbroken is a book for any reader looking to have her or his faith in the human race restored.

June 17, 2018 - I am still enjoying the prayer app which gives me five prayer groups each morning! I continue on track with my morning reading the One Year Bible plan on my smartphone. You can check out audio of the One Year Bible Plan on the companion commentary online.
I completed 2 books and posted 4 reviews. This drops me to 4 reviews due.
I need to find time to add more reviews to Goodreads, Amazon and Audible.
My NetGalley shelf is at 12; I still have one author title in queue. Still many through InstaFreebie and many new author requests but I haven't replied to.
Welcome to Mailbox Monday.
Mailbox Monday is a gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week and explore great book blogs. This Meme started with Marcia at A Girl and Her Books (fka The Printed Page) and after a tour of hosts has returned to its permanent home at Mailbox Monday. Thanks to the ladies sharing hosting duties: Leslie of Under My Apple Tree, Serena of Savvy Verse & Wit and (yours truly). Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.
I selected one review book this week.
I picked up one Audible daily deal titles this week and selected my two May credit audiobooks.

I'm north of your son and our AC has been working overtime. I'm so thankful we have it. Looks like you found some good audiobooks!
ReplyDeleteI need to look into those SYNC titles - they look pretty good. It's interesting that Tribal Affair is about a genie - that seems like a unique twist.
ReplyDeleteI like the look of LANCE. It must be an inspiring read. Enjoy your new books.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week and your books. The Voice Inside caught my eye.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
It's crazy how it's hotter up North right now. Whew. Hope yall have a great visit!
ReplyDeleteResisting Kindle deals had to be difficult. :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes on my TBR blooming. :)
ENJOY the books you have and your week, Martha.
It is super hot outside here too. Love the free books you picked up.
ReplyDeleteFar too hot for me, no matter which State we are talking about, which is why we always used to visit Florida in December! I do hope that you are enjoying your trip and some good family time together.
ReplyDeleteI really want to read the Brian Freeman book, although I see that it is book #2 in a series. I couldn't find you having read book #1, so can I assume that the stories are going to work okay as stand alones - which would be brilliant news for me?
I hope that you manage to squeeze in a little reading whilst you are away :)
Yvonne
