Hello October - the dark, spooky month.
Thanks to everyone who commented on the last question.
Last post SBB#430 Marjorie asked: What is your favourite place to visit on vacations?? (Expanded by my answer to include: a) If anyone changed their answer from 2013 or b) if vacations have been different due to Covid19 restrictions or c) anyone has a Dream Vacay they'd like to share. )
2 commenters haven't traveled due to Covid lockdowns; 2 have no favorite vacation place, one of whom hasn't vacationed in 12 years. One doesn't vacation but visits family. Another 3 named specific locations while one said crusing, one said any beach and another said any mountain with waterfall and woods.
For US participants: I need to update and refill the books available to US winners. I have used "Love" and "Christmas" titles as well as ARC titles. Since the supply is lower, I have author collections I could choose from, mostly romance - historical, suspense and some contemporary. What genres/books/authors would you like me to include?
The Winner from SBB#430 comments is #8 NATALIJA who can make a GC choice if international or book choice from the Updated (**Finally!) ARC/Review titles or (recently updated) Love and Christmas titles - all linked near the end of the post. -- [9-18-2021 I have added a new box and crossed off books no longer available through August 2021.]
Please let me know your choice by completing the WINNER FORM.
WEEK #431
(One Question.)
Fredamans asks: What is one book that has impacted you since the moment you closed it?I have to say the Bible -- but I don't keep it closed.
This year I find myself thinking about The Iron Triangle. I have shared it several times with others reading in the same vein.
The images below show how one book can have an impact on its surroundings. :-)
Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month, I draw from the suggestions I used during the month and that person will get a 1/2 book choice or $2.50 towards GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions. Thanks for sending in questions! The supply of questions is dwindling so share some if you think of any -- even if they are duplicates I'll weed through or try to modify them. .
Your turn to share. Fredamans asks: What is one book that has impacted you since the moment you closed it?
SBB Comment Winners can choose a selection from the Updated ARC and Other books, including the "Love" and Christmas titles all in one post.
SBB Rules:
a) Must be a follower.
b) Share a comment on the question above.
Open internationally and an international winner may get a smaller book or a $5.00 GC if I decide the mailing is too much.
I will pick a Comment winner from all comments made through Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 5 PM central.
I have not experienced it yet.
ReplyDeleteI read a book a while ago about a girl who had her identity stolen. I found myself dreaming that this happened to me. It was a worry that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteNone as yet.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the lucky winner!!
ReplyDeleteAnswering my own question, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Now more than ever people need to read the lessons in that story. Racism sucks. I've experienced it twice in the last year alone, and having not experienced it in my forty something years, it levelled me.
Thank you!
ReplyDeleteProbably every book I rated 5* had some kind of lasting impact on me.
can't think of any
ReplyDeleteBorn a Crime, by Trevor Noah is an inspiring book!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Natalija!
ReplyDeleteMine would be the Throne of Glass and In Death series. I always think about them even though it's been a while since I've read it
I can't say that any really impacted me...
ReplyDeleteThe Sealed Nectar! I loved it.
