He noted that if you light a match or candle or flashlight at lunch time it barely shows. But as twilight comes on the light is more noticeable. Then when it is really dark the little bit of light may be considered radical. As society around us becomes darker -- in the sense of personal morals, Biblical commitment and doing what is right in God's eyes instead of our own eyes -- may we prove to be radical lights in a darkening world.
I've chosen this song to fit this message:
We Shine!
Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV)
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Lord, I pray that I may be considered radical in my service and sharing for You!
Amen, Martha. Thanks for the great reminder. Sometimes in the darkness we forget we Are light.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading this message very much. I think that the song went along with this message very well.
