Hey everyone! Are you getting ready to celebrate Halloween or anything special this month?
I am pleased to say that I feel much better. Thought I was having a relapse earlier in the week but now I feel good.
Twenty-one of us do not cover our books although several of us do have covers for our ereaders. Only two commenters actually use covers and Liss is thinking of doing it.
There were twelve definite "nos" to roller coasters. Five who love them and another five who like the rides but maybe haven't ridden in years.
Thank you to all who shared last week.

WEEK #120
Q1. Becky asks: If you are in a bookstore, where do you go first??
A: Hmm... I don't go to bookstores very often but when I do I admit I hit the bargain table first. Then I might check out the gift section. And often I stop for a coffee and treat if available. :-)
Doesn't this look charming?

Q2. My nonbookish Question this week: Which would you 'prefer' to visit: Dentist or Doctor??
A: Well really I don't 'prefer' either. :-) I think maybe I would choose to go to the dentist because usually it is quick and painless. At least I haven't had a root canal for years. Besides I don't really go to the doctor unless I am sick or need the annual check up things and I don't look forward to the 'vice machine!' (That happens to be on my mind since it is Breast Cancer Awareness month.)
Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I draw from the suggestions I used during the month and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions. Thanks for sending in questions! We are getting low on questions so hopefully you will send more in -- even if they are duplicates I'll weed through or try to modify to use.
Your turn to share:

1. The YA section.
ReplyDelete2. Doctor.
I always check out clearance first, then go to the sci-fi and fantasy section.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of either, but I'd prefer the doctor over the dentist as I have a phobia of freezing and always faint when I get it. I don't like going to the dentist for a cleaning and being told I have to go back for work. At least if I'm going to the doctor, I know there is a good reason, because I wouldn't go otherwise.
1. Had to smile when I read your answer, Martha, because I will usually check out the bargain section first as well. Then I will head over to non fiction, frown at the prices, take notes, and finally order interesting books online as they are sometimes up to 50% cheaper.
ReplyDelete2. That's easy for me. A doctor is my choice, because I'd do anything to avoid going to the dentist and as long as nothing hurts I really don't go, not even to those yearly check-ups. Blame it on them always telling me that my wisdom teeth have to come out, but why should I undergo that operation if they don't cause any problems?
Q1. I don't go to bookstores often myself, but when I do I look at the bargain tables first. After that it depends, if I'm looking for something from one of my favorite authors or just browsing to see what it out there. I will browse the books for different things like gardening, crafts, cooking, and even self-help books.
ReplyDeleteQ2. I don't prefer to visit either the Dentist or the Doctor. I don't go to either except for when have to. Will go to the Dentist for the normal stuff since it doesn't take that long. I don't go to the Doctor unless I have to.
1. In a bookstore, I usually first visit the travel and fiction sections.
ReplyDelete2. My preference is neither. :)
Have a wonderful day!
Elizabeth L.
1. The romance section.
ReplyDelete2. The doctor. Usually doctor's visits are relatively quick n painless (touch wood) but even if I'm just getting my teeth cleaned at the dentist I find that rather uncomfortable.
1. Bargain area
ReplyDelete2. Doctor I don't dental insurance so besides the pain I fear the bill. Although I must admit that I have "white coat syndrome and my BP goes up when I see them!

I always go to the Young Adult section first in a book store. :)
ReplyDelete1. Sale rack or magazines, unless I am looking for a specific book.
ReplyDelete2. Dentist - no shots or blood work.
1. I always go to the bargain books first, too. Then I go to the new book section.
ReplyDelete2. Maybe it's because I am a nurse but, I much prefer going to the doctor. I always have a list that I want to cover while I am there so I manage the appointment, not them. That way I don't forget anything that I need an answer to or want a referral for. It's really important to go prepared. (That's my PSA for the day)
My native language is spanish, so when I go the the bookstore, I look first for the books in english. Then I go to the Young adult shelf. And the bestsellers. Not so many options as the ones you have over there. But I think we are improving. :)
ReplyDeleteOh.. I don't like to go to see any doctor nor dentist. I hate it, really. It means that maybe you're ill. But since we have to, I'd prefer to go to the doctor.
1. I hit the new releases and best sellers, then the clearance and discount section.
ReplyDelete2. I don't care for either but as long as it's just a cleaning then the dentist is my choice
1 - I like to check out their special display table - sometimes it's a holiday or books about the area the store is located in
ReplyDelete2 - neither - tho I think I'll have to get to a dentist soon
^^ i'm glad you feel better really!
ReplyDelete1) the paranormal/urban fantasy section, we dopn't have a bargain section no sometimes there is some but it's in the respective section ...and in our bookstores nothing to eat at all^^
2)i prefer the doctor at least i know i will feel better after it...with dentist since i don't do anetheasist.... the pain is lasting so definitively doctor ( and fater seing him so often i better prefer it^^)
1. no specific section; walk around
ReplyDelete2. neither
1. Sale table
ReplyDelete2. Doctor
I like to look at the new releases but I usually end up at the sale table.
ReplyDeleteI am like a kid when it comes to Doctors and Dentists! I panic "big time" when I have to go so I actually prefer neither!!!!
Congrats Di!
ReplyDelete1. I go straight to all the lovely displays. Check out the new releases.
ReplyDelete2. I don't like either, but I prefer the Dr. I actually have my yearly check up at the dentist next Monday & I'm already nervous. Just a check & clean, but I do NOT like it.
1. The bargain section.
ReplyDelete2. The doctor.
Congrats o the winner.
ReplyDeleteI usually look at the new releases and then head over to Historical and Paranormal Romance books.
I don't like going to either one, #1 reason being the long wait to begin with. If that doesn't make the waiting more stressful I don't know what does. But probably the Dr. I can't stand the smell of the dentist's office. It just makes my nerves worse. lol

I don't know where my comment went to . So I'll just re-post to be safe.
ReplyDelete1. I usually go to the new releases first and then head over to the Historical and paranormal
2. I don't like going to either. But a Dr would be preferable to a Dentist. The smell alone in their offices makes me cringe.

Q1. Depends on the bookstore. Some have a big manga section while some don't. So it's usually the manga or YA section for me. Then only mysteries!
ReplyDeleteQ2. Dislike both of course. But if I really have to pick one, then doctor. As I know mine much better than my Dentist. I think my Dentist is a sadist and loves giving people pain so nope....dislike dislike dislike!
Q1. I usually head to check out the manga, or if they have a coffee shop I'll go there too. Oh, or the bargain racks, just to see what they have.
ReplyDeleteQ2. Dentist actually. I usually get better news there than I do at the Doctor's office.
