I am linking with Sunday Post at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's Monday! What Are You Reading? now at The Book Date (at Wordpress)
What Are You Reading?, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.
I have one staff member moving to another job so we have been shifting positions and cross training. I'll be spending some time interviewing this week while juggling the usual work schedules.
I was hoping those deer in at the end of the driveway would show up better.
They were up next to my car (the blue on the right)
until I opened the door to let the dogs out.
Then they spread to the right and left.
The dogs don't really phase them. They just stare at the human taking pictures.
Our Florida weather remained in low 80s most of last week but the nights dropped to high 50s. We had a couple of cool days and then it warmed up again. It is interesting to see some blog friends with their snow pictures.
I visited 16 blogs again last week.
Shout Out this week to Pondering the Prose. Ardis describes herself as "an avid reader and budding writer" who wants "to share my love of books with others."
Don't forget- Audible is offering free children's titles during these days at home.
Audiobooks.com is also offering free listens for children.

Publisher's Summary
In a ruined and toxic landscape, a community exists in a giant silo underground, hundreds of stories deep. There, men and women live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them. Sheriff Holston, who has unwaveringly upheld the silo’s rules for years, unexpectedly breaks the greatest taboo of all: He asks to go outside.
His fateful decision unleashes a drastic series of events. An unlikely candidate is appointed to replace him: Juliette, a mechanic with no training in law, whose special knack is fixing machines. Now Juliette is about to be entrusted with fixing her silo, and she will soon learn just how badly her world is broken. The silo is about to confront what its history has only hinted about and its inhabitants have never dared to whisper. Uprising. ©2012 Hugh Howey (P)2013 Audible, Inc.

The Prepared Investor: How to Prevent the Next Crisis from Affecting Your Financial Independence
by Christopher Manske
This will take a bit longer so it will run as my third "current reading" for several weeks. I am moving slowly but finding this interesting.

November 8, 2020 - I continue enjoying reading first thing each morning, even this week while away.
I am still enjoying the devotions and readings with the One Year Bible plan through You Version App. I considered changing but this is the reading group that is closest to my husband's reading so we can sometimes discuss the same passages.
I completed my first Thanksgiving plan in November: 7 Days of Thanksgiving.
This week I will be doing a five day plan: Double Blessing.
I completed two books, posted three reviews and I am up to date.
My NetGalley shelf is now at 3, which are the three remaining titles from 2012-13 which I still hope to read this year. After adding all but one review at NetGalley my percentage rose to 96%. I expect that is the best I will get so I requested a couple of new titles. :-)
I have added no new author review titles this week. I still have one carry over author ebook left in my queue. (Plus a few that I received from newsletter sign-ups, not specific review requests.)
Still many titles through InstaFreebie and many new author requests I haven't replied to.
Welcome to Mailbox Monday.
Mailbox Monday is a gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week and explore great book blogs. This Meme started with Marcia at A Girl and Her Books (fka The Printed Page) and after a tour of hosts has returned to its permanent home at Mailbox Monday. Thanks to the ladies sharing hosting duties: Leslie of Under My Apple Tree, Serena of Savvy Verse & Wit and (yours truly). Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists. No new review titles received this week.
Someday I'll check the email requests I have been receiving. {Sigh.}
I picked up four Audible Plus titles.
Twelve free Kindle titles this week.
(Note these are in my Amazon library, NOT on my Kindle until I download and transfer them.)

I've heard good things about Jodi Thomas's books. Enjoy, and thanks for sharing. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
ReplyDeleteThose deer are amazing. Most likely all our reading was a little less this week, but all good!
ReplyDeleteSeems work is keeping you busy as always!
ReplyDeleteThe deer herd seems to enjoy your yard :)
Wishing you a great reading week
Hi Martha,
ReplyDeleteInterviewing is always a bit stressy and time consuming, no matter how often you have to do it, so Good Luck with finding someone suitable to join your team.
We have had some quite mild weather here in the UK, for the time of year that is! I do miss my Floridian Decembers though, but I think they have probably gone forever now. Those 25 years or so were great fun!
I quite like the sound of 'The Heavens May Fall', but as this is the third book in the series, I am hoping it can be read as a stand alone!
Have a good week and Happy Reading :)
Yvonne xx
I have The Heavens May Fall audio but I haven't read books 1 and 2 in the series. Can it stand alone?
ReplyDeleteI envy you for your weather. It's pouring rain here and the temperature will be falling all day until it gets to the 40s. Needless to say it's a good day for napping and reading. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. I can just make out the deer. We have been seeing a lot of fox lately, especially in the days that it snowed. I'm glad we are also experiencing the warm weather now.
ReplyDeleteI'm eager to hear what you think of The Cowboy Who Saved Christmas. Hope you enjoy all your books.
Wishing you a nice week.

Allen Eskens and William Kent Krueger are favorite authors of mine. The books have MN settings and I lived there for 35 years so I enjoy that too. Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
There were three deer in our back yard eating something the other night.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful, elegant animals, but they destroy my plants every summer. Oh well.
ENJOY your books, and I hope you are having a good week.
