Sharing Beyond Books #336 Comment Giveaway January 27, 2018

Hello again and Welcome to Sharing Beyond Books, SBB!

I am going to continue to post this event biweekly (every other week) for another month and then see if I am ready to go back to four a month. The question queue is down to 18 or so and some of those may have been asked before. I haven't gone through them all.

Thanks to everyone who commented last week.
Stated reading goals ranged from the low of 50 (three people) to a high of 300 -- Alina reads a lot! A couple like to read one book a week (52) and then there were a couple hoping to read 100 and one person at 75. At least 10 commenters have not set goals or challenges for this year.
~~~~~
The Winner from SBB #335 comments is: #16 Becky who can make a GC choice if international or book choice from the Updated (**Finally!) ARC/Review titles or (recently updated) Love and Christmas titles - all linked near the end of the post.
**NOTE: I did post an Updated ARC and Other books for Giveaways. I have to go back and list the titles -- someday.
Please let me know your choice by completing the WINNER FORM.
WEEK #336
(One Question.)
Marjorie asks: What was your favorite meal that Mom made when you were a child??
I had to think a bit - it's been a long time. I loved my mother's old fashioned meatloaf.
Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I draw from the suggestions I used during the month and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions. Thanks for sending in questions! The supply of questions is dwindling so share some if you think of any -- even if they are duplicates I'll weed through or try to modify.
Since I am only doing two posts a month I think I will split the comment prize if GC and count 1/2 book for US winners. I think this will work out okay as I only have two US commenters with open suggestions and about four or five international. Does that seem okay? That means for January Natalija and Marjorie each get $2.50 credit for questions.
Your turn to share. Marjorie asks: What was your favorite meal that Mom made when you were a child??
SBB Comment Winners can choose a selection from the Updated ARC and Other books, including the "Love" and Christmas titles all in one post.
SBB Rules:
a) Must be a follower.
b) Share a comment on the question above.
Open internationally and an international winner may get a smaller book or a $5.00 GC if I decide the mailing is too much.
I will pick a Comment winner from all comments made through Saturday February 10, 2018 at 5 PM central.
  1. My mother was, and is, a great cook. I couldn't pass up her roast chicken dinner with all the fixings.
  2. Congratulations Becky. One of my favorite meals from Mom was her Linguine and clams with lemon. Being Italian, our meals were mostly 80% Italian.
  3. Some of those are pretty high goals. Good luck with them!!
    Congrats to Becky!
    MY mom, when I wanted a snack, would fry up some onions and chickpeas in onion, butter and curry. OMG I still love it now, and when I miss my mom, (Yes, I still miss her at 41 years old,) I make that chick pea dish.
  8. Traditional cooking was my mother's forte. Yellow rice, chicken curry, aubergine fried and cooked and potato devilled!
  10. My mum makes the best "papanasi"(it's a romanian dish, I don't know if they are found in other cultures). There's a ricotta cheese dough boiled in hot water, and then set in cookie crumbs flavored with sugar and butter. We eat them with sour cream and/or jam.
  14. My mother never cooked. My fave of grandma's was her egg lettuce wrap which we would usually eat during Chinese New Year.
  15. That's one of the things I miss being a vegetarian. My grandmom made great meatloaf. I need to find a way to make a veggie friendly one. Yum!
  16. Hard for me to decide which dish of my mother's; it's between her roast dinner or her meatloaf. If I have to choose I'm going to say her roast.
