Thanks to everyone who commented last week. I enjoyed the quotes that were shared and hope others will read them too.

The Winner from SBB #329 comments is: #5 Alina who can make a GC choice if international or book choice from the Updated (**Finally!) ARC/Review titles or (recently updated) Love and Christmas titles - all linked near the end of the post.
**NOTE: I did post an Updated ARC and Other books for Giveaways. I have to go back and list the titles -- someday.
Please let me know your choice by completing the WINNER FORM.
WEEK #330
(One Question.)
bn100 asks: How do you feel about authors/publishers running contests where the only way to enter is to buy the book (which is different than the no purchase necessary contests)??
I am not in favor of giveaways where you have to buy the book. It usually requires that you send in the receipt which is an extra (annoying) step... assuming I would want to buy the book in the first place.
On top of that - it is an illegal violation of FTC rules. :-)

Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I draw from the suggestions I used during the month and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions. Thanks for sending in questions! The supply of questions is dwindling so share some if you think of any -- even if they are duplicates I'll weed through or try to modify.
Comments in November were from Elizabeth, Alina, Becky and bn100. Random.org chose 4 so bn100 gets to pick an book.
Your turn to share. bn100 asks: How do you feel about authors/publishers running contests where the only way to enter is to buy the book (which is different than the no purchase necessary contests)??
SBB Comment Winners can choose a selection from the Updated ARC and Other books, including the "Love" and Christmas titles all in one post.
SBB Rules:
a) Must be a follower.
b) Share a comment on the question above.
Open internationally and an international winner may get a smaller book or a $5.00 GC if I decide the mailing is too much.
I will pick a Comment winner from all comments made through Saturday December 2, 2017 at 5 PM central.
I strongly dislike any contest where you have to do a milion things to be enetered, like, follow on various social media sites, subscribe to a newsletter, refer friends... Life is busy. I have no time for such things.
ReplyDeletei don't like them at all and i don'tparticipate as more than often anyway internaztional entrants are excluded
ReplyDeleteI don't bother if I have to purchase the book. I also think it stops a lot of people from entering as well.

I would never buy a book just to enter into a competition.
ReplyDeleteI don't enter contests where I have to buy the book. It seems a little desperate to me.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Alina!
ReplyDeleteI refuse to buy a book as an entry. That's kinda redundant.
Yes I don't ever participate in such contests where you need to buy something.
ReplyDeleteI don't enter contests where a purchase is required. I also don't like contests that require me to share the contest on facebook since most of my facebook friends are not "book friends" and would be irritated by the posts.
ReplyDeleteIt will not apply to me as I will not be able to find the book at all! However in principle I am not in favor of the idea.
ReplyDeleteI've never purchased books only to enter a contest. Also, I've noticed lately that some authors are offering bonus short stories for those that pre-order their books.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Alina!
ReplyDeleteI don't enter contests where I have to buy the book.
I'd never purchase a book just because there's a contest. If it were a book that I'd intended to buy anyway, then I guess it would be bonus to have a chance of winning something.
ReplyDeletedon't like them and never participate
ReplyDeleteI would never buy a book to win a contest. It is wrong to do this to your readers .
ReplyDeleteI've never entered a contest where a purchase is required. It's unfair to make that a condition for entering.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't purchase a book to win a contest.
ReplyDeleteNever done that before and wouldn't. Unless by some chance I already bought the book and there just so happens to be a contest.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteI only participate if it's from one of the authors I like and with a book that I have already preordered or I intend to buy anyway.
