[Sorry to miss Saturday night posting. Just enough time now during child nap to get to this post. :-)]
Thanks to everyone who commented last week.
Interestingly the favorite shake flavors fell within five flavors: 5 commenters picked chocolate (one being dark chocolate); 5 others picked strawberry but two of those were mixed with another flavor; 3 chose banana, one of those mixed with strawberry; 3 chose vanilla although 2 of those were alternates to chocolate; and 2 of us picked coffee (including mine since Jamocha is a mix of coffee and chocolate but I didn't count it for chocolate).

The Winner from SBB #265 comments is:#9 Janhvi who can make a GC choice if international or book choice from the Updated ARC/Review titles or (not yet updated) Love titles - all linked near the end of the post. [I'm hoping to update the book choices - maybe the beginning of next year, lol.] Please let me know your choice by completing the WINNER FORM.
WEEK #266
(One Question.)
Birgit asks: Do you always start reading a series with book one? Or are you like me, often discovering a series by accidentally (eg finding an interesting novel on sale and giving it a try) reading a book later on in the series??We've had a few questions on "series", but not quite this one.
I prefer to start series at book 1 but I sometimes get the chance to read a mid-series book for review. I sometimes think twice, but usually I won't turn them down.:-) I have found some good series that way. Getting back to the earlier books is always a challenge though, considering how many books I have in the TBR stacks already.
Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I draw from the suggestions I used during the month and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions. Thanks for sending in questions! The supply of questions is dwindling so share some if you think of any -- even if they are duplicates I'll weed through or try to modify.
Your turn to share:

SBB Comment Winners can choose a selection from the Valentine and "Love" books or the February 2015 Newly Updated ARC/Review List. (My daughter pulled several of the Christmas titles to give with gift bags we made up for the nursing homes. One of these days I will get together a new box of Christmas titles.)
SBB Rules:
a) Must be a follower.
b) Share a comment on the question above.
Open internationally and an international winner may get a smaller book or a $5.00 GC if I decide the mailing is too much.
I will pick a Comment winner from all comments made through Saturday August 27, 2016 at 5 PM central.
I try to read the first book in a series, but will read them out of order.
ReplyDeleteBecause o of the difficulty of getting books here I read whatever I get. It's also strange how I somehow get the earlier books if I've gone into a series midway.
ReplyDeleteI need to read a series in order. The books make more sense.
ReplyDeleteJust recently I read two books that were part of a series, but there was nothing to indicate going in that this was so. Nothing on the cover or in the blurb, so I was blind-sided. I think they were both parts of trilogies. Just not acceptable. It should be made very clear.
I prefer starting with book 1 but have ended up reading a book out of order because I didn't realize it was a series book. But starting at the beginning is best. For me anywy.
ReplyDeleteCongrats winner.

hum 90% of the time i start by book 1 but if i happen to win a later book in a series i will probably try it without waiting book1 to see if i like and when i do i get teh earlier book to read in order
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Martha! I try to always start a series from book 1 cause I hate feeling like I'm missing out on something which was mentioned in the previous books.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winner!
ReplyDeleteI do my best to try reading a series at book 1, but have boo-booed a couple of times not knowing I was reading book 2 or 3 until it was complete. I usually go back and read the ones I missed though.
I prefer starting from book 1 but if a book later in the series were to be free I would give it a try if it sounded interesting & able to be read as a standalone
ReplyDeleteCongrats Janhvi!
ReplyDeleteI prefer to start at book one but a few times I have read books that were midway through a series. If I enjoy the book I will go back to read the previous ones.
no, skip around
ReplyDeleteI usually find a good by an author that I didn't know was part of a series, if it is a good read, I will buy all of the past ones.
ReplyDeleteI try to start with the first book in the series, yet sometimes I accidentally start later on in the book series.
ReplyDeleteI like to start with the first book.
ReplyDeleteI try always to read first book in the series, but it's not always :D :)
