Thanks to everyone who commented last week.
Most of us have TBRs that we may never get through. However Mystica has limited to access to print books but now has some on IPAD. Rubynreba tries to keep her pile small and reads what she has. Llehn and bn100 read their TBR pile "one book at a time". :-)

The Winner from SBB #144 comments is: #18 Linda (Linda's lucky week) who can make a GC choice if international or book choice from the ARC/Review titles, Christmas titles or Love titles - all linked near the end of the post. Please let me know your choice by completing the (new) WINNER FORM.
WEEK #145 (One Question.)
Q1. bn100 asks: What's the weirdest place you've ever visited??
A: I really am having trouble thinking of the "weirdest". I have seen several interesting places like Alcatrez in California, volcano tunnels in Hawaii, caverns in Carlsbad, the Grand Canyon and glaciers. But I guess one of the most unusual or 'weirdest' would be the upside down gardens in Juneau, Alaska.

Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I draw from the suggestions I used during the month and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions. Thanks for sending in questions! We still have a supply of questions but from the same people so hopefully others will send more in -- even if they are duplicates I'll weed through or try to modify to use.
Your turn to share:

Since I don't do much traveling, I haven't been to anyplace that would be considered weird. I have been to a couple of interesting places like the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how to define "weird" places. But thinking of unique places: I really like visiting the cathedral forest here in BC, and some of the castles in Southern France and Germany are amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love travelling and because I think I enjoy it so much, I doubt I've come across a weird place. Every country seems to have its own unusual features - even arid landscapes like the desert in Dubai and Australia.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winner. I really can't think of any weird places I have ever visited. Sorry.Haven't really traveled anywhere in awhile anyway.

Haw Par Villa where there are exhibits of what the Chinese afterlife looks like.
ReplyDeleteCan't really think of anywhere in particular. I mean, isn't the reason we visit places because they are unique and out of the ordinary?
ReplyDeleteNot sure how weird but it was such a cool cultural experience - went to visit a friend's parents at their summer cottage on a beautiful lake in Finland. The cottage was hand built of logs by his dad, no electricity, they used an outhouse outside, crystal clear lake where they caught fish, grew their own vegetables, we picked berries out of the forest for homemade jam and saw moose wandering the property. And the Northern lights were the most amazing sight I've seen as we were near Russia and way up north. I felt like I was Laura Ingalls on the prairie - unreal experience.
ReplyDeleteI'm having trouble thinking of weird places. I guess it would be a haunted graveyard. It was so creepy at night, and we had so many troublesome experiences, we had to return in the daytime to investigate. It is one of those places that is virtually unknown anymore and is terribly hard to find. michelle_willms at yahoo dot com.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Linda!
ReplyDeleteOh dear what a hard question. Do those big sized versions of human parts count? Like a huge nose? In one of those science fairs. It's weird to me anyway.
ReplyDeleteI think the natural places can be the weirdest - the lava fields on the Big Island of Hawaii look like a moonscape, Zion Canyon and it's red pillars of rock ... I'll be interested in reading what others have seen.
ReplyDeleteI have not been anywhere weird, like you Martha, I have seen Alcatrez, I do like the pictures of the upside down trees, really neat.
ReplyDeleteCongrats winners.
I have visited a petrified forest. As you can imagine, extremely ancient. It was stark & beautiful.
ReplyDeletehaven't been to any weird places
ReplyDeleteI don't travel much but have enjoyed Pikes Peak, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon.
ReplyDeleteNot really weird but rather unusual & quite lovely - a glow worm cave
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to any weird places or anything that is too different from my usual surroundings.
ReplyDeleteI don't travel much, so I haven't been anywhere weird yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
One of the strangest places I have visited is the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, CA. It is a haunted Victorian mansion built by Sarah Winchester, widow of the gun magnate William Winchester. Sarah believed her family and fortune were haunted by ghosts of people killed by the Winchester rifle. She believed that only by continuously building from 1884 to her death in 1922 could she appease these spirits. The house has 160 rooms, secret passageways, and doors and stairways that lead nowhere.
ReplyDeleteOne of the unusual places that I've visited is Skellig Michael, which is an ancient monastery that's situated on a very small island off the coast of Ireland. :)
