Thank you to all those who commented last week.
Most of us are not fans of love triangles although they are okay if there is no infidelity, no cheating and it moves along quickly so no unnecessary pain. lag123 mentioned Stephanie Plum but I know some people have gotten tired of that trio after so many books.
It was fun to read the different 'picky habits.' Several agree with liking the toilet paper in the front but there are those who like it the other way - does that make you the "odd ones"?? Only kidding. A number of us like to do certain chores our own way. Several of you have pet peeve's relating to your book collections. How fitting. :-) It sounds like there might be some more "peeves" to share so I'll bring that question back in the future.

Q1. This
week Emily asks: Would you rather be a Princess in a castle in medieval times, or a millionaire in the 1800s, OR a cavewoman??
A: Hmmm--- I'll pass on the cavewoman but it's harder to decide between a Medieval Princess or an 1800's millionaire?? I'm choosing to be an millionairess in the 1800s - a few more amenities.
Q2. Here is my question: When did you start keeping a list of books you have read??
A: I started keeping a book list in 2001 when my children were old enough that I started reading more. I bought a software called Readerware and used that from 2005 through 2009. Now the lists are on my blog. I also started in 2004 keeping favorite author lists to track the books I read, had to read or had to buy - no sense getting duplicates although it still happens now and then.

1. Millionairess in the 1800s. Definitely. I mean, granted, a Princess sounds great, but seeing how it would be in the Middle Ages, that translates into freezing your derriere off in the cold castle (and don't even get me started on the whole personal hygiene thing).
ReplyDelete2. Oh dear *cough* believe it or not I started to make a list when I was just a teenager. I've been using index cards and put them in a box. When I got my first computer I transferred them to a simple Word file and then years would pass before I had finally access to the internet and discover places like LibraryThing and GoodReads. These days though I only have books I still own, or recently read, on that list, which is a bit of a shame, but for some reason I didn't keep the original list as I gave many books away, and then many books got "soaked" when our storage in the basement was flooded. A list of all books ever read would be neat though!
: I would prefer a millionnaire from the 1800, more easy than a princess ^^
ReplyDeletei don't know when i started making list of my books, but when putting some order in my old desk i found a small book with a list like that and i should have been written when i was 8^^;; i didn't even remember it before so it was a surprise ( i was already very good with my book and took a great care of them)
all the best

1. Great question: a millionaire in the 1800's for sure. I could buy my own castle & the Prince to put in it.
ReplyDelete2. I don't keep a list of the books I have read. It's a good idea though. I think I will begin doing this.
Congrats Jane.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather be a millionaire in the 1800's. Definitely better time to be around then Medieval times. And a lot more to do with millions :)
I haven't started a list yet but it's definitely got to begin because I read so much and I've been bringing books home only to realize I already read it. :)

1. I would love to be a millionaire in the late 1800s. I am totally fascinated with the turn of the century.
ReplyDelete2. I was probably ten or so when I started cataloging my books. We had this DOS-based program on our first computer called "My Treasures" and my dad taught me how to imput my book info. Later, I switched to using Access and now, after many computer crashes and getting tired of imputing each time I had to reload, I completely switched to Goodreads. I also use LibraryThing, but only for books I have read.
1. I had rather be a millionaire during the 1800's. I love reading of that era of time and what could be better then to be a millionaire then?
ReplyDelete2. I started keeping a list of books I have read in 2010 when I discovered Good Reads.
I might actually want to be the cavewoman for freedom drinking purposes and a millionaire for health purposes. edysicecreamlover18@gmailDOTcom I started keeping a list when I got on Goodreads.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be a princess in a castle in medieval times. I find that time period fascinating. Tore923@aol.com
ReplyDelete1. I have to go with being a millionair in the 1800's because I think that would give me the best chance of a good bed to sleep on.
ReplyDelete2. I've never kept a list of books I've read. There have been a several times that I've gotten a few chapters into a book and realized it was very familiar. lol Maybe I should start keeping a list.

ReplyDelete2. I've never kept a list of the books I've read until this year! I thought it was about time! lol I do keep a list of the books I have of my favorite authors because I don't want to end up with duplicates.
I would rather be a millionaire in the 1800s. Definitely better amenities. And probably less restrictions as well.
ReplyDeleteI didn't start keeping track until I discovered Goodreads in late 2010.
1. I'd rather be a 1800 millionairess, since a penny could like take a whole day to be spent or something!
ReplyDelete2. I don't really keep a list, but I have all the books on goodreads, and the 2012 reading challenge, plus, my reviews are all the books I read, in the order that I read them, pretty much :)
2. I started keeping a list of books I have read about 3 years ago. I have a binder where I keep my list. I also started using goodreads at the end of last year. I just got into reading about 4 years ago. before then I would never have picked up a book. Believe it or not The books that got me reading are the Twilight Saga which are one of my favorite series.
ReplyDelete1. millionaire in the 1800s
ReplyDelete2. I don't really keep a list.

1. Millionaire in 1800's. Even though I know women were still restricted in many ways they would had a lot more freedom than a princess in the medieval era.
ReplyDelete2.About a year ago I started keeping track. Especially wht's on my e readers. Goodreads has always been my back up source but of course now with the amazon change a few have been lost.

ReplyDeleteI'd love to be a princess (since my childhood I've always wanted to be Aurora from 'Sleeping Beauty' or Bella from 'Beauty & the Beast').
2. When did you start keeping a list of books you have read??
In 2010, when I found Goodreads on the Net :D
1. A millionaire in the 1800s.
