Sharing Beyond Books #309 Comment Giveaway July 1, 2017

Hello again and Welcome to Sharing Beyond Books, SBB!

Sorry this is late - I had a fun day spending time with my hubby today. This evening we got caught up watching Sons of Liberty.

Thanks to everyone who commented last week.
Well many of us were adventurous when younger but not so much anymore. Only Janhvi and Fredamans are adventurous; Linda would like to but claims she is too lazy. :-)

~~~~~
The Winner from SBB #308 comments is: #1 Mystica who can make a GC choice if international or book choice from the Updated (**Finally!) ARC/Review titles or (recently updated) Love and Christmas titles - all linked near the end of the post.
**NOTE: I did post an Updated ARC and Other books for Giveaways. I have to go back and list the titles -- someday.
Please let me know your choice by completing the WINNER FORM.
WEEK #309
(One Question.)
Miki asks: Has the opinion/ behaviour of an author (political or not) ever made you stop reading his/her books??
I can imagine this could happen. If an author was particularly rude, disrespectful or hateful, I probably would choose not to read their work. I can't think of any that I have stopped reading due to comments or behavior. There are actors I choose not to watch as a result of their behavior/comments.
Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask. Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I draw from the suggestions I used during the month and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions. Thanks for sending in questions! The supply of questions is dwindling so share some if you think of any -- even if they are duplicates I'll weed through or try to modify.
Your turn to share. Miki asks: Has the opinion/ behaviour of an author (political or not) ever made you stop reading his/her books??
SBB Comment Winners can choose a selection from the Updated ARC and Other books, including the "Love" and Christmas titles all in one post.
SBB Rules:
a) Must be a follower.
b) Share a comment on the question above.
Open internationally and an international winner may get a smaller book or a $5.00 GC if I decide the mailing is too much.
I will pick a Comment winner from all comments made through Saturday July 8, 2017 at 5 PM central.
  1. Yes. I think this could probably happen. I find it difficult when someone is rude because that is your personal opinion and not meant to be aired to all and sundry. Like someone we all know. Very distasteful.
  3. I doubt I would know what most authors do or think, but it would depend.
  4. It has happened to me once. A very famous Author reacted to a review on the latest book and it was not favorable. The reaction was so very rude and carried to many social medias by the Author. It was unbelievable the reaction to this review. Congrats Mystics on your win.
  5. Yes this would happen for me, especially if the author is baiting the readers then not coming through or behaving badly for some reason. I wouldn't like to support someone disrespectful and mean.
  6. I have started reading an author because of their comments---so I suppose I could stop reading because of them too.
  7. Until it happened once i didn't think i would but by their writing i think author can be model for somes so i don't expect them to be perfect but correct is a minimum and when authors weren't it did shock me
  8. Interesting question. It hasn't happened so far but I think if such a thing did happen, it would colour my opinion to the point of not wanting to read the person's works.
  9. I don't really pay attention to the personal lives of most authors' books that I read. However, I do follow some blogs by my favorite authors, which mostly focus on their upcoming books.
  10. Congrats Mystica!
    It hasn't happen to me yet, and I don't really pay that close attention to situations like that.
  11. It has happened to me before. I stopped reading an author because I felt discriminated after she posted something on her blog. I don't think she intended it that way, but that's how it made me feel.
  12. I cannot think of any instances where this has happened.
  13. I don't follow many authors on social media so this hasn't happened before. I'm of the thinking that to each his/her own and they should have their own freedom of speech so if I really like that author's books, chances are I won't be affected by it.
