Sunday Post December 18, 2016/It's Monday! What are You Reading? Plus Mailbox Monday December 19, 2016

I am linking with Sunday Post at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading now at The Book Date.
Thank you to Sheila for the years that she handled this meme.
Thank you to Kathryn for taking up the baton.
What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

I through this past week with a cold. I tried to get to bed early every night. Friday we has a scheduled Christmas party but we called off since I had a fever much of the day and didn;t want to share that! I didn't have as much free time as I hoped as staff set up numerous last minute appointments.
Our weather has warmed back to 80s but we have had rain.I had this post 3/4ths complete at 10:30 when I took a break to make the coffee for tomorrow morning. When I returned to finish the wet lines made the process drag. I could type a whole line before seeing the first word. Aargh!

Reading was good, some while traveling and some extra in bed when I woke during the nights with my stuffy head. I finished three ebooks and one audiobook. I posted three reviews and the usual memes.

I only got to visit minimally early in the week; had hoped to go around later but my health never worked out.
No shout out this week.
Thank you to all the nice people who visit me.

These were last week's posts:
  • Book Review: The Wrong Unit by Rob Dircks; Sci Fi, Dystopian; my rating 5.0.

A Curious Beginning Audiobook

A Curious Beginning
Written by: Deanna Raybourn
Narrated by: Angele Masters
This title is from my Audible Library;
September 2015.
Publisher's Summary
London, 1887. As the city prepares to celebrate Queen Victoria's golden jubilee, Veronica Speedwell is marking a milestone of her own. After burying her spinster aunt, the orphaned Veronica is free to resume her world travels in pursuit of scientific inquiry - and the occasional romantic dalliance. As familiar with hunting butterflies as she is fending off admirers, Veronica wields her butterfly net and a sharpened hatpin with equal aplomb, and with her last connection to England now gone, she intends to embark upon the journey of a lifetime. But fate has other plans, as Veronica discovers when she thwarts her own abduction with the help of an enigmatic German baron with ties to her mysterious past. Promising to reveal in time what he knows of the plot against her, the baron offers her temporary sanctuary in the care of his friend Stoker - a reclusive natural historian as intriguing as he is bad-tempered. But before the baron can deliver on his tantalizing vow to reveal the secrets he has concealed for decades, he is found murdered. Suddenly Veronica and Stoker are forced to go on the run from an elusive assailant, wary partners in search of the villainous truth.

3. ebook/Kindle

Cooked Goose (Big Mike and Minnie)
by Susan Amanda Kelly
This is a NetGalley title that looks so cute.
Mistletoe mayhem! Cooked Goose is a hilarious holiday love story filled with sizzle, sugar, and sass...
“Your father called me. He invited me for Christmas. I have a ticket for the same flight as you. Tonight.”
With those words, Big Mike sucked the oxygen out of the room. Minnie intended her father would meet her new man, Big Mike… eventually. Minnie wanted to give Daddy time to get used to the idea that his 'little girl' is embroiled in a serious relationship. A few decades, perhaps. Because Daddy’s not your run-of-the-mill protective father - he's a criminal. But now Minnie is heading home for the holidays with Big Mike in tow.
Big Mike is no delicate violet. He’s quiet and lethal, an ex-Special Forces soldier whose day job involves ‘keeping the Free World safe’. But Big Mike doesn’t want to spoil Minnie’s Christmas and promises not to hurt anyone… His resolve will be tested by Minnie’s father, her psycho brother and three outlaw lieutenants who want his woman.
*This is a 12,000 word story packed with everything needed for a very merry Christmas: love, family, laughter and psychos.

I suspect I may start another audio but I haven't decided yet.

December 4, 2016 - I used audio time this past week to get caught up to date on my Bible reading.
I have been enjoying listening to the companion commentary online when I am home.
I am reading The One Year Bible again along with my husband and others from our church.

I posted three reviews which still keeps me a bit behind; six to be posted.

I still plan to request audio titles as I can always squeeze listening in!
I now have 8 NetGalley Titles and 10+ author titles in my queue. Clearly most of them are going into 2017!

We have several releases and new books to go up on eTreasure's NetGalley page; three ready this week.

Welcome to Mailbox Monday.
Mailbox Monday is a gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week and explore great book blogs. This Meme started with Marcia at A Girl and Her Books (fka The Printed Page) and after a tour of hosts has returned to its permanent home at Mailbox Monday. Thanks to the ladies sharing hosting duties: Leslie of Under My Apple Tree, Serena of Savvy Verse & Wit and Vicki of I'd Rather Be at the Beach. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

I received two titles from NetGalley which release in 2017.
I did not get anymore Audible titles but I have two selections left to pick this year.
I picked up two Kindle titles for $.99.
I picked up more free ebooks, plus the usual good number of free kindle titles. (Note these are in my Amazon library, NOT on my Kindle until I download and transfer them.)

Are your mailbox and TBR piles blooming?

  7. Ugh, being sick is no fun. I've been battling a sinus infection for the past few days. I feel like I'm doing everything in slow motion. Hope you are feeling better.
