It's Monday! What are You Reading? September 8, 2014

This meme starts at Book Journey!

What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

I had a busy time last week which went pretty well.
My reading was good and I finished three books, plus I am well along on the audio.  I only got two reviews posted
I also posted the usual memes. :-)

I was pleased to visit several blogs two days early in the week.
Thanks as always to all the nice people who visit me.

These were last week's posts:

eTreasures Publishing New Release:
We released an updated version of:

The Spaces Between Your Screams
by Christopher Hivner
Real fear lives in the spaces between your screams.
The moment twilight becomes darkness, they are alive again. Whispered doubts, overfed lies, indistinct dreams; these crowd into your mind to create the monsters.
Your fear unleashes demons.
Your desire attracts blood seekers.
Your frailty makes you werewolf prey.
Your trust makes you vulnerable to the obscenity of the human soul.
When you scream we will hear only the silence between your breaths.
And we will know you are doomed.
Genres: Horror, Paranormal, Thriller
Pages:  408, Anthology

Two print releases going through final adjustments before we link them up at the website.
Two more ebooks still out for galley proofs; to be released soon.

Currently reading:
1. Audio/MP3

Dead Case in Deadwood: Deadwood Mystery, Book 3
Written by: Ann Charles
Narrated by: Caroline Shaffer
I selected this from AudioBook Jukebox
because it looked fun even if it is a third book.
Click on book title for full description.

2. eBook/Kindle

Neverhome
by Laird Hunt
I have started this and love the prose.
I look forward to enjoying and reviewing through NetGalley.
She calls herself Ash, but that's not her real name. She is a farmer's faithful wife, but she has left her husband to don the uniform of a Union soldier in the Civil War. NEVERHOME tells the harrowing story of Ash Thompson during the battle for the South. Through bloodshed and hysteria and heartbreak, she becomes a hero, a folk legend, a madwoman and a traitor to the American cause. Laird Hunt's dazzling new novel throws a light on the adventurous women who chose to fight instead of stay behind. It is also a mystery story: why did Ash leave and her husband stay? Why can she not return? What will she have to go through to make it back home? In gorgeous prose, Hunt's rebellious young heroine fights her way through history, and back home to her husband, and finally into our hearts.

3. eBook/Kindle

The Night Visitor
by Dianne Emley

I will begin this after Neverhome.
I received this thriller through NetGalley.
Book Description
Publication Date: September 16, 2014
In bestselling author Dianne Emley’s chilling new paranormal thriller, a beautiful woman’s romantic past comes back to haunt her in the form of an otherworldly visitor seeking justice.
Gorgeous and successful, Rory Langtry seemed to have it all. Daughter of a movie star and sister of a supermodel, Rory was engaged to sexy artist, Junior Lara. But her bright future went dark one terrible, bloody night that left her sister dead and the accused murderer—Junior—in an extended coma.
Now, five years later, Rory appears to have put the past behind her. She has a wonderful new fiancé and heads a successful cosmetics company. Yet dark secrets threaten. Across town, Junior lies close to death but before he departs he seeks to clear his name.
It starts with a feeling. It turns into a vision. Soon Rory is having sensations that only Junior could experience—from the horrifying to the erotic. Then she learns details about the awful night that only Junior could know, newfound knowledge with potentially fatal consequences. When another act of violence rocks her family, Rory plunges deeper into the unsolved mystery, led by an inexplicable visitor to a dangerous time and place where all will be revealed at last. But until then, Junior will not let her go.

Chances are I will start one of the two new audios when I finish Dead Case.

I am still one day ahead on my daily Bible reading.
I have disciplined myself each morning to read my Bible passage before I pick up print, Kindle or mp3. I am really enjoying the reading.

Line Edits:
We are still finalizing formatting for two educational, non-fiction ebook releases. We are also working on releasing several novels in print.

I still have some books carried forward and I still hope to read at least one of my own TBRs this month. I completed two reviews last week and hope to post at least three this week; staying up to date.

  1. Martha, Lots of reading really. I think I always enjoy Grace Burrowes when I read her books, I don't read that many regency books, but she would be an author who would tempt me.
