Sharing Beyond Books #68 Comment Giveaway September 29, 2012

Welcome to another SBB!

Hello again on Saturday Night.  Welllll - there went another month! Are we ready for October yet?
OH! I just remembered - I have to add a new group of Christmas books for winners to choose from since we only have two months or so to Christmas! I'll be sure to take a picture and add them before next Saturday. :-)

Thank you to all who shared last week.

Those were well received questions last week.  There are a wide variety of items on our bedside tables in addition to books and readers.  Things like glasses, tissues, lamps, alarm clocks, water, medicines, several with lip gloss and more. Don't anyone interrupt nrlymrtl though as she has a handgun there!

I'm am glad that so many of you have all readers in your families or very understanding family members! And at least the others of us have tolerant loved ones. I wonder if any of us know a male who will admit to reading romance!? LOL

The Winner from SBB #67 comments is: #14 Sarah There are still 5 'love' books to pick from and 1 Christmas choice (see my note above about adding more titles to that list soon). Sarah please choose a book (or GC if international) from the remaining Love Books List for Giveaway, remaining Christmas Giveaway Book, OR pick from the Updated ARC/Review List and let me know your choice, your address and a choice of bookmarks by completing the WINNER FORM.

WEEK #68 Questions

Q1. Winnie asks: Now that summer is over what are your plans for fall??
A: I don't have special plans for fall other than getting all my work caught up before we go to Hawaii in December. I will be getting lots of details ready for a trial if it doesn't settle at mediation this week. Now that I am thinking plans - I need to do some Mediation "practice" - co-mediation - before I can get fully certified. Okay... why are my plans work related and not relaxing things??  I am hoping my sister will come in October to visit a week or two!

Looking back at my picture folders
I found a lot of garden photos in October.
I like this pretty butterfly on the lantana.

Q2. My question to go with Winnie's - Do you plan to read anything special for October - like horror for Halloween??
A:  I have to get my October reading list set up for the Monday post. I do plan to read something for Halloween especially for the JUST FOR FUN Reading Challenge. They are doing a theme: Read a scary, horror, Halloween inspired book or a book that has black or orange in the title in October. Sooo do any of you have a book that meets that criteria to recommend for my reading for October/Halloween?

I have these two available on my Kindle TBR.
Maybe one or both would qualify.

Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask.  Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I will draw from the suggestions I used the month before and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions but some of you others might want to get in a question or two as we have a few people submitting most of the questions so far.  Either way - it works for me. :-)  The question list is being replenished!  Thanks for sending in questions!
September Questions were provided by: mamabunny, Cheryl C, Margaret, Abby and Winnie.  The monthly pick winner is: CHERYL C. - please pick a book and fill in the form. :-)

  2. 1. We are hoping to squeeze a trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas. We haven't been able to take a trip for three years We have go some place that is close since it has to be a short trip.

    2. I am doing the Just for Fun October challenge too. First I picked a scary book off my shelf, I read the first three pages of it and got really creeped out! I had to stop and watch some TV to get it out of mind! So I tried another scary book that I had on my shelf-no luck. I couldn't take it either. So now I am going to go for a book that has orange and black on the cover. I have learned somethng about myself and have promised myself to skip all book giveaways for scary books!!!

  5. Fall is the time to finish up the garden, put food up for the winter, get hay for the snow days, repair and/or build animal shelters.....very busy time.

I'm participating in Stainless Steel Droppings' R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril event that goes to the end of October. The group read is The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, which is an excellent book.

PS - Granma has the same things on her head board and she reads far more than I do. I make it a point not to interrupt her reading time.

  7. 1)
Now that summer is finished my plan are simples: study! At the moment i'm also anxious because i'm trying to be accepted in a special cursus but the number of student is limited so finger crossed and i will see.
Also since this week i'm thinking about trying to take a better care of myself physically, i have several health problems with consequences on my body so it's like i have the body of a very very old person ( lungs, kidney, articulations, bones etc etec)by myself i don't know exactly what i can do to help a bit so the doctor recommended a coach at least for a few session ( so i could recuperate my ankle and knee- very needed^^)so far i haven't made the call but i'm seriously thinking about it ( but i'm so busy i don't see how i will manage everything)

    2) special plan for reading: yes and no i have entered some challenge and those give specification that i have to follow each month so in october it will be urban fantasy (and paranormal romance) mostly. So yes the theme is appropriate but no horror exactly for me

  17. I live in the tropics so we don't experience the 4 seasons. But regardless I think it wouldn't really make much difference.
    I don't read horror, I don't like being spooked!

  18. 1. My plans for the fall consists of going back to school, classes, and studying after a summer of full-time work. I also had plans to get back to watching hockey games when the season begins, however, the lockout is happening and we may now lose a full season of hockey :(

    2. I didn't really plan to read anything special for Halloween since I don't read horror books. But I do have a book to recommend for October/Halloween and that would be One Grave at a Time by Jeaniene Frost. This is a part of my favourite series and for this book in particular, events take place in October and around Halloween :)

  19. 1. Nothing much. Just normal life. Studying and part-timing. And book reading of course!

    2. Nope. Horror is not my thing! Seems to me a lot of people don't either, based on comments. I'll probably read something fluffy instead to get all the Halloween jitters out of me!
