Sharing Beyond Books #43 Comment Giveaway April 7, 2012

Welcome to SBB! Happy Easter to everyone.  As usual I had a busy but mostly productive week. I'm planning for tomorrow to be a beautiful family day.

Thank you to all those who commented last week.
Just under half of us do have a bucket list or things they still hope to do. Mamabunny13, who shared this question, has the wildest ambition: wanting to go zip lining. My daughter did that and bunging jumping so I'm good with doing those vicariously through her. LOL..

I was rather surprised that almost a third of us were lost or left behind as a child! Being lost in the next row (Abby *smile*) isn't too bad. My children got lost when they were about 31/2 and 41/2. They took their trick or treat buckets and wanted to find me.  I was at church early in the morning and DH fell back asleep. They left the house to walk to church! I came home a different road and didn't see them. That was soooo scary!

The Winner from SBB #42 comments is: #4 Ricki. There are still 8 'love' books to pick from and 2 Christmas choices. WEEK #43 Questions

Q1. This week Abby asks: If you had to be stranded on a deserted island and could pick 1 author as company, who would it be??
A:  Oh - this could be a loaded question! I might want a male for survival and companionship but that might not be a good idea either. So I think I'll pick someone I would love to talk with about her awesome books in several genres.  She has a military background, loves to travel and she could probably use the experience for another book. :-)  My choice:
Merline Lovelace
I can imagine her writing something in a setting like that behind her.

Q2. My question this week: Have you ever had a broken bone??
A:  This is an easy answer for me - No, thank the God Lord. Just recently my daughter had to suffer with a fracture in her foot. That is rough with a 10 month old infant.
Doesn't that look painful!

Thanks to those who are sending in Questions. DON'T BE SHY! Surely everyone has a Q or two you'd like to ask.  Input suggestions in this Suggested Question Form. At the end of each month I will draw from the suggestions I used the month before and that person will get a book choice or GC. I thank everyone for submitting questions but some of you others might want to get in a question or two as we have a few people submitting most of the questions so far.  Either way - it works for me. :-)  The question list is being replenished!  Thanks for sending in questions!
Your turn to share:

  1. 1. Oh dear ... that really is a touch one! I mean there are many authors I really appreciate, but would I want to be stranded with one of them on a deserted island? Ultimately I might opt for an author who's looking back on several bestsellers on survival techniques.

    2. No, fortunately not! Of course I'm not involved in any risky sports and I'm not all that klutzy either ;-)!

  2. Probably JR Ward. I absolutely love her Black Dagger Brotherhood series. And form everyone who has ever met her she's a hoot I think I'd definitely need someone with a great sense of humor if I was stuck on an island. :)

At 11 while ice skating I tripped and ended up breaking my leg in two places from the knee down. I have never gone again. lol

    Happy Easter.

  3. Pick just one author? That's so hard. I would pick Marie Landry. She's a new author, and also a book blogger. I've followed her for a while, and she's awesome. Definitely someone I'd want to hang out with, even if it was on a deserted island.

I've broken both baby toes. But I don't think that really counts, so no, no broken bones.

  4. 1. I'm choosing two, because my first choice would be William Shakespeare & that's just not going to happen. My second would be Neil Gaiman, because his books are so imaginative & interesting, and I am led to believe, so is the man.

    2. No broken bones at all. I have six siblings & not one broken bone in the entire family. I think it's all the milk we drank as children.

  5. 1. I would say Agatha Christie, but that might be a little scary as she would be a ghost. I'm not really sure whom I'd want to be stranded with.
    2. I've had a tip fracture in my pinkie finger on my left hand, but that is it.

  6. I might pick Veronica Roth or the first...I have broken my arm before...but that was a long time ago. edysicecreamlover18@gmailDOTcom

  7. 1. I would like to be stranded with Janet Evanovich. She would certainly see the humor in the situation.

  9. 1. Not sure I'd pick the actual person but I'd want all of James Patterson's books with me to read

    2. Only broken bone is a toe from dropping a big jar of mayo on it - owww

  10. 1. Can I choose a fake author? Rick Castle, from the TV show Castle. He's so cute, funny and fun. And, he can get out of lots of scrapes so easily. He has a book or two out so I figure I can use him.

    2. I have had too many broken bones. Thanks to a car accident when I was in my 20s, I had 8 fractured ribs which then collapsed my lung. Not so much fun. Way less dramatic than they make you believe on TV.

  11. 1. I think I'd want to be stuck with any dystopian author, because they're more likely to have survival tips, plus I can then pick their brains about their books! So up at top for that is Veronica Roth author of Divergent and Insurgent!

    2. Yes, I've broken my leg, right at the bottom where it connects to my foot, and it was like you took my bone like it was a stump of wood and split it in 2, but way smaller and it was just a crack. They didn't even know if it was broken the first 3 weeks because of how it was broken. Not a lot of fun at 13!

  16. 1. Thanks for picking my question Martha! Like you, I would TRY to pick a male first, maybe Richard Castle(?),even though he's fictional, or James Patterson so he can also read his books to me. But as for females, Judith McNaught definitely!! I LOVE her books!!

    2. NO thank goodness! But I have sprained an ankle! And that picture is, ARGHHHH.....*hides*

  17. 1. Neil Gaiman because he is a genuinely interesting and nice person and because he also has a head full of random knowledge that might come in useful.

    2. Thank goodness, no.

  18. I'm not sure who I would want with me but I know who i would not want. I love his books but I wouldn't want Stephen King because he would scare the heck out of me! lol

I broke my small toe when I was a kid. It was very painful.
