Sharing Beyond Books #12 September 3, 2011

Welcome to another Saturday night! Thanks for your comments this past week.
I really enjoyed the shared comments regarding our reading "preferences" and phobias.  We have a lot of mixed reading genres which I think is lovely.

We don't have too many real phobias but many do not like creepy crawly bugs and spiders. Interestingly, no one mentioned snakes!

PLEASE NOTE - SBB #12 should close on September 9 but I will be on the air flight from Atlanta to Copenhagen. So the close date will run to September 10 and I hope to get to post the next SBB on September 11. We are going on an 18 day cruise and I will have internet access but not like I am used to.  If any commenter(s) would like to host this for September 11, September 17 and September 24 please email me at mesreads AT gmail.com and we'll set it up - you do the post and I'll still honor the winner picks.  :-)

The Winner from SBB #11 comments is: #ABBY There are still 9 'love' books to pick from, 8 Christmas choices and 3 Summer titles below. So Abby- please choose a book from the remaining Love Books List for Giveaway or remaining Christmas Giveaway Books or the summer books below and let me know your choice, your address and a choice of bookmarks by completing the WINNER FORM.

WEEK #12 Questions

Q1. Jennifer asks the book question this week:  Do you cry when you read books?  What book has made you cry?
A:  I'm not a big crier. But I do chock up and get teary eyed sometimes.  Now let me think what was the last book that made me tear up... I'm trying to remember if there was a scene in Steamrolled. But I KNOW there were passages in Working it Out!

Q2.  Have you ever been in a disaster.  Hurricane, tornedo, fire, etc.? I thought of this last week because of Hurricane Irene and the week before with the earthquake on the East coast.
I have been in several hurricanes since I live in Florida and give thanks to God that my family has never had serious injuries. I remember the first one when we moved to Florida in 1964 - Cleo. We  watched the palm trees in the front yard bend to one side and after the eye passed they bent to the other.  We did suffer roof and other damage from Ivan and Jeanne in 2004. We drove to the panhandle to avoid Frances and Ivan but were in Palm Beach when Jeanne hit a bit further north. We spent the night rocking and rolling n our old motorhome at my husband's place of employment as he had to be there as the supervisor.
