  1. In societies where arranged marriages are the norm, women are raised to believe that they have no other choice. They must accept, and in many cases, endure, marriage to someone chosen by others to be their husband. Thank goodness I live in a free Democratic society with freedom of choice!

  3. Hi Martha,
Met you last night at author island became a follower yesterday and here I am. I would like to enter for Taimed by Laird it reall sounds pretty good.
My views on arranged marraiges is that they are just plain wrong. A person should have a choice in who they will spend the rest of their life with. There is no love in this type of marraige. i mean how can you love someone you are forced to be with.

  8. I think that most often, arranged marriages are not a good thing. I suppose some people might look at them as one less decision to make in life. That actually takes the fun out of the whole dating and marriage thing in my book.
You could also look at arranged marriages as blessings in disguise for some people, as they often do work out and the couples learn to love each other and have productive lives.

  11. Arranged marriages are not good, IMO. Life is too short to be stuck with a nimrod!

  13. I've read books where arranged marriages work out, but this is only in fiction. I just don't see them working in today's society. Have a great day.

  16. I have always been glad I did not live in a time where there were arranged marriages. I believe you should have a choice. I know sometimes you make the wrong choice, but that is what make you who you are.
