Sunday Post September 27, 2015/It's Monday! What are You Reading? Plus Mailbox Monday September 28, 2015

I am linking with Sunday Post at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's Monday! at Book Journey is active again too.

What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

I had a busy work week getting trying to finish things that were needed as I will be away this coming week. DH and I are on a Bahamas cruise - enjoying the sun.

I enjoyed my reading and listening although it seemed to move slowly early in the week.  I finished four books: three ebooks and one audio. I posted three reviews and the usual memes posted.

I did get to visit early last week but I may not get to visit until late this week do to the internet.
Thanks as always to all the nice people who visit me.

These were last week's posts:

Deadlocked: A Sookie Stackhouse Novel, Book 12
Written by: Charlaine Harris
Narrated by: Johanna Parker
This was from my Audible TBR shelf. I actually finished this a week ago but forgot to list it with last week's titles.
Publisher's Summary
It’s vampire politics as usual around the town of Bon Temps, but never before have they hit so close to Sookie’s heart….
Growing up with telepathic abilities, Sookie Stackhouse realized early on there were things she'd rather not know. And now that she's an adult, she also realizes that some things that she knows about, she'd rather not see—like Eric Northman feeding off another woman. A younger one.
There's a thing or two she'd like to say about that, but she has to keep quiet—Felipe de Castro, the Vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), is in town. It’s the worst possible time for a human body to show up in Eric's front yard—especially the body of the woman whose blood he just drank.
Now, it's up to Sookie and Bill, the official Area Five investigator, to solve the murder. Sookie thinks that, at least this time, the dead girl's fate has nothing to do with her. But she is wrong. She has an enemy, one far more devious than she would ever suspect, who's set out to make Sookie's world come crashing down.

The Remaining: Trust: A Novella
by D.J. Molles
This is one of two Novellas that came in the series before the fifth title which I started on Audible.
D..J. Molles' stunning Remaining saga continues in this first novella in the series set in a world ravaged by a bacterium that has turned 90% of the population into ravenous animals.
While Captain Lee Harden struggles to fulfill his part in Project Hometown his trusted friend and ally Major Abe Darabie works to hold up his end of the mission. But caught between his responsibility to the mission and the ambitions of a new president Abe must decide where his duty lies and whom he can trust in a country turned upside down.

First the Dead: A Bug Man Novel
by Tim Downs
This is the second book we hope to discuss
at Ladies' Book Club on Saturday October 3, 2015
When a national disaster strikes, "first the living" is the rule.
Unless you're the Bug Man.
When Hurricane Katrina strikes New Orleans, forensic entomologist Nick Polchak signs up to help with the recovery effort. He is known as the Bug Man for his knowledge of insects and what they can reveal about the dead. The government's mandate is clear—rescue the living first, recover the dead later.
But something is very wrong in the toxic soup-bowl of post-Katrina New Orleans.
Someone is using the cover of disaster to kill . . . hiding the victims of murder in the same watery grave as the victims of Katrina.
It's a tale only the dead can tell. But no one besides the Bug Man is listening.
" . . . stands out from the pack of CSI-inspired mysteries with its quirky hero and creative handling of the Hurricane Katrina disaster."
—Publishers Weekly (Starred Review)

On the Run (The Elijah Project)
by Bill Myers (Author), James Riordan (Contributor)
This is another TBR title in my free Kindle library since 2010 but was delayed for the Book Club titles.
In book one, On the Run, Elijah’s supernatural gifts have drawn the attention of dark forces. Separated from their parents, Zach and Piper (with a lot of help from heaven) must protect their little brother.

June 1, 2015- I am still up to date on Bible reading and greatly enjoying the readings-- It seems my eyes are open to more details and meaning. I am reading The One Year Bible again along with my husband and others from our church. I am also listening to the companion commentary online.

I posted three reviews last week which left two plus four new for this week so I hope to get at least four posted this week but I will still be a bit behind.
I finished one book from NetGalley and won't be starting another until next week. I didn't add any new books so my waiting NetGalley shelf is still seven.
I am finally pulling in more books off my Kindle and Audible shelves for my TBR Challenge.

Welcome to Mailbox Monday.

Mailbox Monday is a gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week and explore great book blogs.  This Meme started with Marcia at A Girl and Her Books (fka The Printed Page) and after a tour of hosts has returned to its permanent home at Mailbox Monday. Thanks to the ladies sharing hosting duties: Leslie of Under My Apple Tree, Serena of Savvy Verse & Wit and Vicki of I'd Rather Be at the Beach. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

I didn't receive any review books but I picked up two Audible books with credits.
I purchased one Kindle title to continue the Remaining Series.
I added many free kindle titles to my library too.

(I still have many author requests, old and new ones, to consider and reply to.)

Are your mailbox and TBR piles blooming?
